This is quite a good background type novel based on the DOOM3 game, NOT the movie! Which really appealed to me!

The story is based on the what happened before and at the start of the "accident" at the start of the game. The story is based on the demonic nature of the creatures and not the naff genetic creatures in the movie.

The story's up-side is that it is very well written with some great details on the characters. Such as Bergtruger. It's interesting and exciting!

The story's downside is that I skipped large chunks (about 1/4! )of the history of the main character, dwelling on details of his history before DOOM. It didn't interest me at all. It went on about a war/battle that wasn't set against demonic creatures. Not what I wanted to read about.
Finally, I really got into it... it just broke into the first stages of the game story, then it ended... leaving us to wait for the next book to come out!


I rate this much better than the DOOM film. And well worth a read for DOOM3 Game fans!
