Doom 3: Resurrection of evil Xbox

Manufacturer's Description

DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil picks up two years following the events of the original DOOM 3 in a once forgotten and remote UAC research facility on Mars - the site of the first battle with Dr. Bertrugar and his acolytes from Hell. Investigating the ruins, players uncover an ancient artefact that holds unspeakable power. However, this artefact belongs to Hell, and Bertrugar and his demons will stop at nothing to take it back home.

For multiplayer fans, DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil also features more online action with new multiplayer maps for up to four players in the following game types: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Last Man Standing and Tournament mode via System Link or Xbox Live.

As an added bonus, DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil for Xbox also includes complete versions of DOOM II and Master Levels for DOOM II specifically optimized for the Xbox. These classics include their original single player campaigns as well as 2-4 player Co-Op or Deathmatch via split-screen on one Xbox or on multiple systems via System Link.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great game ! 27 April 2006
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
What a truly great game ressurection of evil is. For starters the game puts you back on mars 3 years after Doom 3, at the original dig site. The game is very much action packed and creepy at the same time, although the game is not as dark as the original doom 3, it will still make you jump out of your chair in some parts. The great thing about this game, is that it gives you a chance to face new enemys, like vulgars and also use new weapons such as the grabber and the double barreled shotgun from doom 2. This game is really amazing gameplay wise, and graphically, so i would definately reccomend this game to anyone who owns an XBOX.

One of the best first person shooters i have ever played !

5.0 out of 5 stars worthy expansion to the doom universe 3 Mar 2007

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Resurrection continues shortly after the events of doom 3.

You are once again a marine, but with added weapons and new levels to explore.

The demon artifact which can slow time down is an awesome visual effect

when you use it, and i love the sentry bots this game lets you have more

use of them.

The grabber is useful for repelling attacks and saving bullets, later on

in the game the visual effects are striking.

On one level delta labs, the screen constantly warps in and out going

blood red in doing so.

This is an outstanding graphical effect, and if you loved doom 3 then

chances are you will enjoy this even more.

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Great game for the xbox, the only promblem I had when playing this game for my 360 is that I needed to download extra content to play it. I didn't have xbox live but was still able to download it through my laptop and burn the content on to a disc and from their to my 360.

The game its self was great fun. If you are a fan of doom 3 you will love this game.

The graphics are improved from doom 3- e.g. the flying flaming skull heads have improved designs and improved graphics. The game still holds the same dark and gothic feel to it which makes it a very unique game.

The story line, was interesting and different from previous..in this sequel you are given free reign over the powers of evil ( Control time..etc). If you enjoyed the doom 3 story line you will defintly enjoy the expansion.

The gameplay is simply awersome, this game sticks to simlar layouts as the previous doom 3. As a shooting platformer the shooting and aiming is top notch and on par with its prequel. The only problem I encountered was using your new powers and switching back to a gun which was a bit akward at times ( E.g. Fighting some of the big bosses). You also get access to a couple of new guns including the new double barrel shot gun ( looks like a Elephant Hunting shotgun). The other gun is the very handy Gravity gun which makes great use of the enviroment for ammo and your enemys, Great Fun.

Extra content- This game really is great value for money. Included on the disk is the ORginal doom 1 and 2. Great for the old school fans :).

Overall a good game - 7.9/10
(If you play this in the dark with volume maxed up - you may have moments where an enemy/monster/demon comes out of no where, and can make you jump)

5.0 out of 5 stars A PLEASANT DISCOVERY. 11 Aug 2009
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
DOOM3 WAS PERHAPS THE MOST UNNERVING AND BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED GAMES I EVER BOUGHT AND WHEN I FOUND IT TO BE PLAYABLE ON THE 360 I WAS DELIGHTED.
THEN,BY SHEER CHANCE WHILST BROWSING THROUGH AMAZONS GAMES,I CAME ACROSS DOOM3-R.O.E. IT TOO IS 360 FRIENDLY AND IS MORE THAN AN ADD-ON/EXTENSION.
EVERYTHING LOOKS AS REALISTIC AS BEFORE AND THE TENSION IS PALPABLE WHICH IS WHY I WAS GLAD TO FIND THE ONLINE CO-OP INTACT!
ONE GREAT INNOVATION IS THE ADDITION OF FLASHLIGHTS TO THE WEAPONS SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN LIGHT OR RIFLE AS IN THE ORIGINAL.
OVERALL; GREAT FUN,GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY, GET IT YESTERDAY! DRAKEN.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jump-a-lot 10 Nov 2005
Ok, I'm a luddite - I haven't yet started playing xbox live. So I bought this game purely for its one-player Campaign play. Obvious competitors? Well, Halo/Halo2 are the now the benchmark for all games of this ilk. Doom3 compares favourably with Halo2, although the latter provides bigger landscapes in which to shoot. The major downside is that much of Doom3 takes place in dark corridors and rooms, so you need a "flashlight" to see where you're going. However this is also a differentiator - the number of times stuff comes at you out of nowhere never fails to make you jump, more so than any other game I've ever played (and I've been playing games 20+ years). Doom3 also has more baddie "types" than Halo2.
All in all, I'd say the Halo stable is still safe as the best first-person shooter ever, but Doom3 is pretty good if you've finished Halo or want a slightly different experience.
