Music from the classic years be it Ballads, Swing, Easy listening, Rock & Roll, Soul or Doo Wop had a certain panache which I guess is down to the fact that it was all fresh and comparing it to today`s music modern artists are disadvantaged in that way.This collection of Doo Wop greats seems to cover everything that you need from the Golden years. I have read quite a few books on Motown and these artists featured on this excellent double cd were parodied by the artists from Hitsville literally standing on street corners around Detroit singing these Doo Wop harmonies. Included in this set are songs by The Platters,Dion, Frankie Lymon & a big favourite of mine by The Cadillacs called Speedo.Also here is a track by The Moonglows which included a young Marvin Gaye pre Motown. Absent though is a song voted the all time doo wop song , The amazing Since I Don`t Have You by The Skyliners which incidentally you can collect on another double called American Graffiti from the 1974 film. Great stuff! Highly recommended & Great value.

just got this album and its great, not a big fan of doo-wop but love music from the 1950s. so i bought this album to add to my collection, and iam realy glad i did. Some tracks are well know, and others i had not heard before but boy its great from start to finish.

If you still love Doo Wop(which is a million times better than Hip Hop) and you haven't got any in your collection, this 3CD compilation will make up for this glaring omission; I liked everything on it except the version of 'Little Darlin''

Value for money Doo Wop collection
