'Je Vais Bien, Ne T'En Fais Pas' is a thriller alright. It has all the ingredients, ig; quest for lost person; vague clues; hidden agendas by selected characters and a setting in which even a sundrenched beach in France looks bleak. Leads Mélanie Laurent and Julien Boisselier give stunning performances as Lili and lover Thomas. Mélanie in particular adds suspense, just by facial expressions and vocal intonation. Superb! All the cast have taken acting to an ultimate level, along with director Philippe Lioret, who shot the scenes in a rather languid fashion. It was this slow-moving handling of the plot that had me captivated from opening to ending. Plot being search for lost brother Loïc with unexpected outcome turned out not to be main attraction of this film. Any given plot would have done with the above mentioned cast and director. I think actors Mélanie Laurent and Julien Boisselier and director Philippe Lioret are certainly names to remember.

It leads you astray, gets you annoyed, cleverly moves around to finally reach where you hoped it would go!
A most enjoyable, well acted story in a very French way.

I always like Melanie Laurent she is a real actor in every situation she plays the part very convincingly and in a very real life manner that as well as being beautiful she does not mind to be just the girl next door.
It is a rather sad film but very human.
I don't regret having it in my collection.
"The Father" is in fact the center piece of that film but we only realize it at the end...magnificent acting, he could be the center of the film.

Profoundly Moving Movie 25 July 2008

I was totally captivated and profoundly moved by this movie. That's why I had to own it. The young actress is wonderful and a doll. It's a rich human drama that completely drew me in and the ending is very satisfying. Watch it, I don't think you'll be disappointed. (One caveat: I have a DVD player that plays region 2 discs; I don't know if this flick is available for region 1 players.)
