Product Description

The film follows David (James Brough), a twentysomething London lad who finds himself a fish out of water in Liverpool following a one-night stand. Attempting to win his fare back to the big smoke, David strikes up a rapport with demure betting shop assistant Tina (Helen Elizabeth) and his plans suddenly change. Deftly played by its young leads (the authors of the stage play on which the film is based), Don t Worry About Me makes sublime use of Morrissey s Liverpool hometown to reveal how we might find beauty and friendship in the most unexpected places. Extras: Theatrical trailer, Making of, Short film - Bring Me Your Love

Product Description

United Kingdom released, PAL/Region 2 DVD: LANGUAGES: English ( Dolby Digital 2.0 ), ANAMORPHIC WIDESCREEN (1.78:1), SPECIAL FEATURES: Anamorphic Widescreen, Commentary, Interactive Menu, Making Of, Scene Access, Trailer(s), SYNOPSIS: Chance brings two people together in this romantic drama. David (James Brough) is a guy from London who has a one-night stand with a woman from Liverpool. Afterwards, David tries to return something to her; this act of kindness leads to an unpleasant meeting with her boyfriend, a night of heavy drinking, and a mugging that leaves him flat broke and with no way to get home. David ends up at a dog track, hoping a lucky bet will turn his pocket change into fare back to London, and on the advice of a passer-by named Tina (Helen Elizabeth), he picks a dog that wins big. With hours to kill before he can take the train home, David persuades Tina to call in sick to work and show him the town; she agrees, and over the course of the day these two strangers explore Liverpool, and find they have more in common than they imagined. But can their new bond last beyond a single day on the town? DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME was the first theatrical feature from actor turned director David Morrissey. ...Don't Worry About Me ( The Pool )

3.0 out of 5 stars A promising start 8 Mar 2010
Format:DVD
I've never written a review on here before but feel forced to because of the unecessarily scathing one-star review on this page. Of course there are shortcoming to the film in its simplicity and the implausability of some of the scenes in it, but to suggest it's one of the worst films ever is, frankly, incomprehensible to me. I can only think that the reviewer has an axe to grind. To be brief, I thought the premise was interesting; the manner in which Liverpool was used as backdrop was effective; and I particularly enjoyed Helen Elizabeth's performance. Given what I believe to be the relative inexperience both of Morrissey as director and also the two lead actors as writers, I really think this represents an encouraging start. I'd reccommend the film.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fine start 8 Mar 2010
Format:DVD
I can't believe one reviewer has claimed this to be the worst film ever, this is just insane and obviously driven by a hidden agenda. The BBC endorsed this movie for a reason and after watching it in Wimbledon last week I was generally impressed with David Morissey's first feature film as a director. It provides a solid platform to build from and brought light humour to the screen and showed Liverpool as a real town which is not necessarily all about the Beatles and LFC. Yes the film wasn't perfect and it's not in my Top 10 all time list, but in no possible way is it the worst film ever. I'd definitely see it again and thoroughly recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved Don't Worry About Me. 8 Mar 2010
Format:DVD
I attended the Quad in Derby to see Don't Worry About Me (for the cinema experience), even though I'd already pre-ordered it on DVD, and I have to say I really enjoyed it on lots of levels. The film was a lovely mixture of comedy, sentiment and ordinary people living ordinary lives. It made me laugh out loud (the "one night stand" telling her boss where to go! and the scene with young Mum's and pushchairs seeing David off...so protective and sooo feminine!!) And I wanted to cry listening to the characters confession towards the end, you'll have to watch the film to see why. Liverpool itself was a revelation and at sometime soon I hope to get there to tour some of the sites shown in the film. This film ticked all my boxes and is a film I could happily watch with family and friends alike and would recommend to anyone. Well done to David, Helen and James for all your hard work it is appreciated. Cheers Carole Ann.
