Book Description

1 Feb 2002 Kitty & Friends
Kitty's favourite word is No! She doesn't want to clean her teeth, eat her vegetables or, worst of all, play with boring cousin Melisso. In fact, Kitty can't seem to stop saying 'no' but when Dad tells her he doesn't ever want to hear her say 'yes', she discovers that that's exactly what she does want to say! When she breaks one of her favourite toys, she finds she does want to tidy her room. When Dad says he doesn't want a goodnight kiss, Kitty decides she'd like to give one. When she's bored because Mum and Dad are having a lie-in she does want to play with her big brother, Daniel.

5.0 out of 5 stars I ALWAYS WANT TO remember this book! 8 Sep 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This book was without doubt THE best thing about my childhood. I have still got the copy now and plan to pass it on to my children (eventually - I'm only 21 at the moment!) It captivates a child, as it relates directly to them and is written in a fantastic style which they can understand. The book plays out the situations they face living in everyday life with their family. The book allows them to laugh at themselves, and the main character, because of the similar traits they share. All in all a fantastic book - informative, funny and not to mention relevant! Don't let your children grow up without it!

Kitty's favourite word is `NO!' but some how she always ends up saying yes due to all the problems that `NO!' causes! This book is funny, delightful and suitable for all children. Younger children would enjoy it more because the vocabulary is easy to understand and read and the main word is `No!' (this is not very surprising!) The book is full of pictures that were drawn wonderfully by Bel Mooney's main illustrator Margaret Chamberlain. I would rate this book six or seven out of ten because the pictures are all in black and white, which is a bit of a shame since the book would have been better with full colour images.
