More About the Author

Hello, I'm Steve Smallman. I'm an author and illustrator of children's books, a muralist, a poet(sort of)and a bit of a show off!I started working as an illustrator while I was still at art college then after about 20 years decided to have a go at writing stories of my own. I've written over 40 books so far (more in production!) and these days I'm better known as an author than as an illustrator.I'm married to Ann (Who is wonderful and has a proper job!)we have 4 children who are all grown-ups and 4 fabulous grandchildren!
I'm not very good at being a grown-up so I write books, illustrate, paint murals and visit schools all over the UK and abroad keeping so busy that no-on notices that I don't have a real job!

About the Author

Steve Smallman has taken up writing his own stories after illustrating children's books for over 30 years. He also teaches illustration and mural-painting workshops in schools. When he's not working, Steve enjoys films, television, gardening and walking in the countryside. Caroline Pedler illustrated her first children's book in 1999, and has lost count of how many she has illustrated since! With an MA in Illustration-Authorial Practice under her belt, she always has something creative going on. Caroline lives in a lovely village in Cornwall, where she enjoys walking her dog Bobo, meeting up with friends, and drinking copious amounts of Lady Grey tea.

Our whole family love this book. I really enjoy reading it and my kids, 4 and 17 months love it when the balloon goes 'POP'. Great illustrations too. Recommended for all ages!

Can't get enough of this book, although maybe too much now as my LG has to read it every night before bedtime. But it's just too cute to refuse her as she knows it off by heart.

Great book for children, and can easily be made quite an interactive book using your child's own soft toys.
