Product Description

Fresh off the back of landing a nomination for Best New Band of 2013 in this year's prestigious Classic Rock Awards,London's hotly-tipped,blues-soaked,garage rock n rollers THE GRAVELTONES are excited to announce their highly anticipated debut album 'Don't Wait Down' which is set for release on October 21 through the band's own independent label Lagoon Dog Records, distributed by RSK Entertainment. The album will be preceded by Catch Me On The Fly,the first single to be taken from the album, which is due for digital release on August 26.With lyrics being compared to Bob Dylan, riffs to Rage Against The Machine, vocals to Howling Wolf and beats to Bonham,it's easy to see why the dynamic duo have been stirring up such a frenzy on the London scene amongst music press and fans alike.Having amassed a dedicated following,The Graveltones Jimmy O (vocals/guitar)and Mikey Sorbello(drums)smashed their way through their crowdsourced album campaign with revolutionary music platform Pledge Music in record time this summer. The album features 10 tracks recorded at Monnow Valley and Miloco Studios and produced by The Graveltones along with the renowned producer Charlie Francis(REM,The Noisettes,Future Of The Left). The release of Don't Wait Down comes at the end of what has already been a hugely successful year for The Graveltones, having released their eponymous debut EP to rave reviews with Londonist naming them #1 in the 'Top London bands to watch in 2012'.

About the Artist

The band have played an impressive 350 shows across the UK,Europe and Australia, including a full UK tour with American rockers RIVAL SONS and a performance at this year's Download Festival. They also landed sync deals with the Irish Lottery and cosmetic giants Rimmel who took advantage of their phenomenal studio sound using the band's first single 'I Want Your Love' to front their national TV advertising campaign against the face of Kate Moss.Having recently been signed to global booking agents TKO,the band are currently routing European tour dates for the end of 2013.The band's recent nomination for this year's Classic Rock Awards in the Best New Band 2013 category is the latest in a long line of achievements that the remarkable pair have already conquered before the world has even heard their full debut album, and sets them firmly amongst some of this year's most incendiary buzz bands including The Temperance Movement,Deap Vally,Walking Papersand Hey Hello to name a few.

This time, a month ago, I hadn't heard of The Graveltones. I was, however, lucky enough to grab myself a ticket for Suede's low-key show at The Garage in Islington in the middle of October 2013 and found myself really enjoying the powerful two-piece support act, who seemed to be a mixture of the heavier side of The White Stripes, Band Of Skulls and early Kings Of Leon. I think you can guess where I'm going with this - yes, it was The Graveltones impressing with a really outstanding, urgent set, leaving the main act with something really quite difficult to follow. Of course, after seeing them, buying the album was a no-brainer and I haven't been at all disappointed by their début, "Don't Wait Down". This thrilling piece of work is a complete assault on the senses, a formidable, riff-heavy monster of an album and the two London-based Aussies, Jimmy O (vocals, guitars) and Mikey Sorbello (drums) have managed to transfer their blistering live form from the stage into the studio quite convincingly.

They're not one trick ponies, though. Although the Led Zep-style riffs are present and correct on "Forget About The Trouble" and "Dying On Your Feet", they show more mainstream indie-rock sensibilities on "Money" and a more sultry, restrained, smouldering blues on "Crime To Be Talkin'" (featuring Lauren Tate on vocals). "I Am A Liar" is perhaps the most different piece on "Don't Wait Down", featuring a bar-piano and mournful, weary vocals describing the pain of being dumped. It all works very well and adds to the texture of the album, so you never get overwhelmed with song-after-song of similar sounding tracks.

I went to see Rival Sons last night and did not know The Graveltones where supporting. Wow they where good. I immediately downloaded this album from Amazon.

The venue was great. A small club. A small 3 foot high stage. Very close to the band without being crushed. The sound was loud and raw but crisp. It was a really a hot night outside so the club was like an oven and the sweat was dripping off the bands as well as us punters.

I loved The Graveltones sound. Songs reminding me of Jack White, The Dead Weather and even The Cramps. Blues/Rock with a punk edge to it.

It was a fantastic gig. One of my favourite bands, Rival Sons with a blistering opening performance from The Graveltones. The only downside was I forgot to take my phone. With being so close to the stage I would of got dome great photos.

I think I will now be purchasing the second album.

Brilliant energy. So much noise from just 2 people. Led Zeppelin reborn. If you get the chance , see them live.

a good album ranges from rock which you can hear Jack White influences and ends with a bit off rockabilly

Great debut album with a real raw garage blues rock sound. Think White Stripes mixed with some Jim Jones Review and a dash of AC/DC. This is a very good thing.

Bought the EP at their gig and nearly wore it out playing it in my car so couldn't wait to hear full album! Not disappointed it's just as expected! Amazing, buy it!

A fast paced mix of rock and roll and blues. My favorite album of 2013, next to Deap Valleys 'Sistrionix'
