5.0 out of 5 stars Call the babysitters, I'm going clubbing! 7 April 2012
Format:Blu-ray
This is a simply brilliant film. If you've ever seen a Chemical Brothers concert you'll love it, if you've ever been to a festival you'll love it, if you enjoy watcing brilliant visuals enhancing excellent music you'll love it. It works on so many levels - the setlist is quite eclectic with a good mix across their career, with some excellent little reworks of various tracks. The visuals are as stunning as you'd expect from a Chems gig, especially one on such a grand scale. But what sets it above nearly all other live concert films is the post production on the visuals, and the immersive use of cameras within the crowd. It's the glimpses of faces of strangers through the crowd, the shared smile lit by a strobe, the closed-eyed-hands-in-the-air rapture of people peaking along with the music that really gets the hair standing up on the back of your neck.

It's a vintage year for old skool idm fans, with this film, Orbital's Wonky and Leftfield's TOURISM all being released in quick succesion. Along with the clubbing episode of 'Spaced - Definitive Collectors' Edition [DVD]', the Glastonbury [DVD] and 'Underworld - Everything Everything Live [DVD]', this is the sort of experience that makes me want to get off my arse and get out there again. And if I can't persuade the wife to come with me she can look after the kids. :-)

I can't recommend this enough. Buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible 27 Mar 2012

Outstanding.

Long time Chemical Brothers fan, and this delivered on all counts. Its as close to being at a gig as possible, but not in the slightest comparable.

If I had one criticism it's a pretty intense experience and exhausting. Those clown choir boys take their toll :)

5.0 out of 5 stars I recommend this I really do 10 Feb 2012
Format:DVD
I saw this film in the cinema, I know my sound system or my televisual abilities won't be able to compare what I saw, but if your fan of the Chemical Brothers or even a strong fan of Dance or Trance, I strongly recommend this film, you will never regret what you saw/ listened to when you hear/ see this baby. Its a masterpeice of live music.

4.0 out of 5 stars INTENSE 17 Aug 2012
By Paul M VINE™ VOICE
Format:DVD
Nearly twenty years into their recording career, the Chemical Brothers release this visual and audio feast. Whilst being hailed as one of the greatest live music films ever, the truth is that a lack of subtlety or warmth keeps Don't Think away from being a classic in the mould of ,say, Stop Making Sense, or the Flaming Lips, UFO's at the Zoo.
That said, this is still a very impressive visual experience that shows why the Chemical Brothers have remained a viable duo at a time when their peers were stumbling in the early part of this century.

The crowd are clearly enjoying the ride, as the many audience shots show, as the Chemical Brothers deliver a greatest hits set [ and boy do they have the tunes!], that powers through an hour and half of clever graphics, intense lighting and very loud music.Personally I would have liked to have seen the band incorporate some of their videos [ Star Guitar's trains or Hey Boy, Hey Girl's skeletons, but you cant have everything I suppose], into the visuals but that is really just a personal preference, because the array of visual tricks the duo use seem to suit their live set very well, with the bowler hatted dancers during Out of Control being particularly pleasing on the eyes. Overall the live show is an over the top combination of the Flaming Lips [ without the humour and sense of fun], and Kraftwerk [ minus the subtlety].

The limited book is well presented with stills and colour plates from the show, giving this version of Don't Think plenty in the good buy stakes. However, be warned, ninety minutes of unsubtle, ferocious electronic music and visuals may give you a bit of a sensory overload. You have been warned!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Show 12 April 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I saw the Chemical Brothers at Glastonbury a few years ago, it was a highlight of the Festival for me, so I was interested in how well their performance would come across on DVD.I only watched it on a smallish screen TV but I thought it was a really powerful experience on the whole, beautifully directed and with the exception of the "trippy" Japanese girl wandering around the festival site, which felt a bit forced to me, a superb audio visual experience.Great not to be disappointed by concert footage.

Format:Blu-ray|Amazon Verified Purchase
Not boasting but I have an 11' projection screen at home, put this live show on before going out and its like having the Chem's in your living room!
Second only to actually seeing them in the flesh at Glastonbury.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 24 May 2013
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
As a lover of the earlier stuff I thought Tom and Ed lost their edge come early 2000's but with Don't Think they're back at the top of their game, love this CD and make sure you play the DVD in the dark to get the best effects from the lasers :)
