Disturbing and scary, Karen Rose's brilliant thriller proves that you never know what goes on behind closed doors. As a woman fakes her own death in order to escape her abusive husband, what happens when he finds out what she did?

Shhh...He's coming for you.

Desperate Mary Grace Winters knew the only way to save herself and her child from her abusive husband was to stage their deaths. Now all that remains of her former life is at the bottom of a lake. As Caroline Stewart, Mary Grace has almost forgotten the nightmare she left behind nine years ago. Slowly she has learned to believe that her new life, and new identity, is here to stay. Then her husband uncovers her hidden trail. Step by step he's closing in on her and everyone she loves. Now Caroline must decide whether to flee again or whether the time has come to stay and fight...

4.0 out of 5 stars mysterylover 29 Feb 2008
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I bought this book thinking it was only a murder mystery but found out that it was also classed as murder/romance
I found the story and characters very good and i really enjoyed it and at times couldn't put it down but must admit that i found the romance part appeared far too often and went into far too much detail and also the main characters thinking about each other was a bit repetitive
Sticking to the main story would have made it a better read but since the story line was really good i give it 4 stars

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 14 Nov 2009
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I read the bad reviews on this book and couldn't understand their disappointment in this story. I suppose everyone has different taste and expectations. I loved this book. karen Rose never fails to keep me anxious to find out what happens next. Personally, I found this story brilliant. The characters were believable and I couldn't wait to find out more. Yet again, another page turner by Karen Rose.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable 6 Dec 2006
Format:Mass Market Paperback
The book is about Caroline and her son Tom who ran away from her husband 7 years ago and were presumed dead and now have there own life together. When Caroline gets a new Boss called Max they are both drawn to each other and a relationship blooms but Caroline has to let go of the past and Max also has his own demons to overcome and this makes there relationship difficult.

Also Caroline's husband, who he a cop has figured out she is alive and is after her leaving a trail of destruction in his wake and is being chased by his fellow cops as they have figured out he is evil and after her and it is a race for them to find Caroline before he does!

I brought this book with the worry it would be a rip off of sleeping with the enemy but it was really quite good. I know that Karen Rose has written other books about some of the characters and I am interested to see what happens to them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great read 12 May 2008
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I can't believe some of the reviews I've just read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The romance is a good counterfoil to the suspense - means I can read it before bed without nightmares!

5.0 out of 5 stars "A very good read" 19 May 2008
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have just finished reading "Don't Tell", and quite honestly could not believe some of the bad reviews this book had been given. I found this to be an excellent read with very believable characters, the storyline flowed and all I can say is, well done Karen Rose for another truly
"holds the attention" read. I would say to anyone who has not read this author before, is to give her a try, I think you will not be disappointed!.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read can't believe bad reviews 10 Jan 2010
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I love Karen Rose, shes a great author. It might not be as hard a mystery/thriller crime story as in say Simon Kernick, but i love them and can't put her stuff down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tell Everyone! 11 Jan 2008
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Mary Grace Winters was nearly ki11ed by her husband more than once. Since he was cop, the only way out was to disappear and start a new life with her son far away from North Carolina. With new names and a new look, they lived in relative safety in Chicago for several years, but when the car she ditched is found, her husband realizes she isn't dead YET.

Max Hunter is her new boss, and he is YUMMY! It was love/lust at first sight for him and Caroline (formerly Mary Grace). Although the sparks are flying everywhere, both have many issues they need to resolve before they can think of a future together. Also, her son is terrified his mother will end up in another abusve relationship.

I like romantic suspense/thriller, and this is one of the best I've read. The pace was relentless, and once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. Who needs sleep, right? :) This novel is vilent, s3xy, sweet, and haunting. If you like Tino Georgiou's-The Fates, you will like this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must tell you about don't tell! 9 Mar 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this book having seen Karen Rose's books on the shelves and wondered what they were like, as I usually go for Jeffrey Deaver, Kathy Reichs, Karin Slaughter and Stephen King. I was not disappointed. The story hooked me in quickly and I found I couldn't wait to pick the book up again to find out what happened next. The story keeps your attention from beginning to end and I am looking forward to getting another book by Rose.
