FAQs

Q: What's your perfect writing moment?
A: When I write "the end" and the vodka bottle is empty. My face is usually smeared with chocolate, too, and my fingers are claws from typing so much. Also, I need a shower. But really. Perfect.

Q: What's your ideal day?
A: My ideal day is being tucked into bed with my puppies reading my Kindle or watching Netflix with my hubby. There may also be some canoodling.

Q: What's your favorite food?
A: Chocolate. It's really the only food.

Q: What are your favorite inspirational songs?
A: "Girl, I Love You" by Massive Attack and "Destiny" by Zero 7. And I like the Spongebob Squarepants theme song.

Q: What's your favorite quote?
A: "You are what you love, not what loves you." (From the movie "Adaptation")

Q: What do you find yourself "fangirling" over?
A: The Winchesters, of course. (If I have to define that sentence further, we cannot be friends. I'm sorry. It's a rule.)

Don't talk back to your vampire is a great sequal to I'm the vampire that's why.

Eva is the local librarian and single mom of 15 year old Tamara the Goth Marilyn Manson fan... Her daughter's hanging out with a teen vampire slayer, she has a wild crush on Lorcan the Vampire who killed her and her Wolf Lucky has just gone missing... could things get any worse?

I loved this book (and I didn't skip any passages) I liked Eva and her quirky word games, I liked her daughter too (and her Vampire hunting boyfriend) and I liked Lorcan the tortured (by his own guilt)

If you enjoyed the first book read this one it's well worth it, if you haven't read the first book... you don't have to read it first but I would.

This is the 2nd book in the Broken Heart series and I enjoyed it as much as the first.
This time, the focus is on Eva LeRoy rather than Jessica Matthews, although Jessica, Patrick and the other characters are obviously still part of the story. Eva is the local librarian with a teenage daughter. She is struggling with a rather disturbing attraction to Lorcan, the vampire responsible for her death in the first place. The book follows their relationship as it develops from animosity, to friendship to attraction. There are plenty of pitfalls along the way- problems with Tamara, Eva's daughter and threats against the town and its mostly supernatural inhabitants.

Michelle Bardsley continues with her witty and engaging account of the events of Broken Heart in this book. You can't help but care about the characters and want to know what will happen to the town's residents next.
An excellent series.

Don't Talk Back To Your Vampire by Michele Bardsley is book two in The Broken Heart Vampire Series.
Being a mother is never easy......... especially when you're a vampire!
This book tells Eve Leroy's story. Eve is the librarian. Eve was "vampified" at the same time as the other residents in Oklahoma. Eve was turned by the same rogue vampire as everyone else too. being a vampire doesn't stop her enjoying what she most loves, books. They still make her undead heart beat, then again her heart beats strangely every time she see's Lorcan, the rogue vampire that turned everyone during his crazy rampage. love that these books are full of humour. They are a really light enjoyable read Yet even though i consider them "light" they have plenty of action in them of all kinds.

*please note there is some adult content that you may consider unsuitable for younger teen readers*

"Ever since a master vampire became possessed and bit a bunch of parents, the town of Broken Heart, Oklahoma, has catered to those of us who don't rise until sunset - even if that means PTA meetings at midnight.
As for me, Eva LeRoy, town librarian and single mother to a teenager daughter. I'm pretty much used to being "vampified". You can't beat the great side effects: no crow's-feet or cellulite! But books still make my undead heart beat - and, strangely enough,so does Lorcan the Loner. My mama always told me everyone deserves a second chance. Still, it's one thing to deal with usual undead hassles: rival vamps, rambunctious kids adjusting to night school, and my daughter's new boyfriend, who's a vampire hunter, for heaven's sake. It's quite another to fall for the vampire who killed you..."

The first book I read by Michelle Bardsley "Don't Talk Back to Your Vampire" was absolutely wonderful and a hilarious read. So I bought this second book, expecting it to be written in the same spirit. It would be a mistake to say that the book is awful. There is a story to follow, but not a strong one and I found myself being bored and skipping passages quite frequently. Nothing was surprising It's an ok read but not a book I am ever going to read again.

The biggest and most angering part of this book was the author promoting another author's: Mary Janice Davidson's newest published book. I found it extremely agitating, unpleasant, unsubtle and just TOO commercial.

Give it a shot though.... everything said above is merely my personal opinion, you might enjoy the book greatly. It is all a matter of taste.

So enjoyable, I bought the whole series for my kindle and am now desolate that I have read them all. I found them funny and although light reading they would be very good on holiday where you wanted to smile. That said, I liked the comedy she brings into her writing of this series. I have downloaded and read 10 of her books now as well as borrowing some from the Library.
