A really good read. 28 Aug 2008
By Jackie.
Format:Paperback
Although the book seemed slow to begin with, whilst the bones of the plot were laid, it soon took off at speed and continued to keep me guessing until the end.
Julia has grown up amongst a large Italian family, but there has always been a mystery surrounding her biological father. Six months after her mother dies of cancer,Julie sees a photograph in the paper of a 3 year old orphan staring through the gates of a Russian orphanage. The Girl looks exactly like her. Even her sister agrees that the likeness is uncanny. Julie is suddenly filled with uncertainty, especially when she discovers an authentic Russian doll amongst her mothers possessions, which she feels instinctively belonged to her.
In a bid to find out her true identity she enlists the help of Alex Manning, who is the son of the Photographer who took the little girls photo in Moscow during the Cold War. Together they face danger and secrets
and an overwhelming attraction to each other.
It is full of twists, turns and suprises as well sizzling romance.

Wonderful romantic suspense 22 April 2006
By bbvector, LORE Reading Group - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Radio disc jockey Julia DeMarco's fiance, Michael, is pressuring her to set a wedding date. Julia's mom died six months ago, her younger sister, Liz, moved in with her and her step-dad is drinking. None of them seem to be coping very well and Julia's reluctance to commit is understandable.

But when Julia sees a famous photo taken 25 years ago of a Soviet orphan girl, she thinks *she* might be that girl, which means her concept of who she is will be altered.

Julia begins investigating by finding Alex Manning, the son of the photographer. The photographer died 25 years ago. As a free lancer, Alex has followed in his father's footsteps. Julia and Alex work together to solve the mystery.

Interesting premise and good plot with some surprising twists. Julia and Alex are smart and mature. Liz was a spoiled brat and Michael was a pushy, controlling jerk - not likeable characters. If there's to be a sequel about them, I'm not interested. Ignore them and this story will hold your attention.

Terrific Story! 10 Oct 2005
By Jayne Luvs Books - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Don't Say A Word is one of the best books I've read all year. It had just the right amount of romance and suspense. Sometimes in romantic suspense, I feel like the mystery takes over, but there was a nice balance in this book. I loved Julia and Alex. They were a great couple with lots of chemistry. The mystery kept me guessing and kept me turning the pages. Once I got started reading I couldn't put the book down. I highly recommend it!

Romantic Suspense at its Best! 9 Oct 2005
By Chloe - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is a can't-put-it-down book, filled with twists and turns you don't see coming. Julia is a great character struggling to come to grips with the idea she's not who she thinks she is. As the plot unfolds she has to cope with secrets and revelations about her past. The romance is fabulous, and the San Francisco setting with its ethnic neighborhoods and gorgeous views is a perfect backdrop for the story. I loved it! You will too.
