Laura Veirs grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she often spent summers camping with her family, which gave her much of her songwriting inspiration. 5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best songs I've heard this year. 16 Aug 2007

And I'm not even a major indie fan. I like the stuff most of the time, it's just not what I'm most likely to be found listening to at any given moment most of the time.

But this song...wow. I don't know what makes it so special, but it's really great and I like it a lot. Up there with the Arcade Fire's "Intervention", Marillion's "The Other Half", and The Besnard Lakes' "Because Tonight" for best new song release of 2007 so far behind most of Rush's SNAKES & ARROWS album tracks, I'd say.

And I have no idea what the song is about because the lyrics are more imagist poeticism than cohesive storytelling. Oddly enough, that isn't even a drawback. But maybe I've just been listening to too much Radiohead lately.
