IMDB defines o mires para abajo (2008) as a drama and a romance, but the truth is that the movie is a comedy. A sex comedy. A sex and death comedy. Eloy takes to sleepwalking by night - stiltwalking by day - after his father's death and one night he tumbles through the skylight of the beautiful Elvira. They begin a love affair in which she teaches him all the joys of tantric(?) sex; different kama sutra positions, how to hold back and to tantalize, etc. She's a beautiful and alluring woman, but the dreamlike atmosphere of this film lends it an absurdity and a throw-away quality which, ultimately, I found more endearing than annoying.
Eloy spends his time away from Elvira either delivering headstones, stiltwalking in a clown costume or dressed up as a taco (no, really). Elvira doesn't appear to do anything except teach sexual technique, making her all the more a fantasy figure for a young gormless Mike Oldfield clone, but undeveloped as a character. The film is pretty sexy, but the sex scenes are all very placid and tasteful, and you'll probably come away from this film quite content with your own brand of bonking.
I'd like to go sleepwalking in Buenos Aires, though...
