The Toasters have done it again! With their new album, they prove why they are the reigning kings of the New York ska scene. Great musicianship, a tight rhythm section, and immaculate songwriting. Unfortunately, this album is not quite the caliber of their other recent releases, mainly due to the lack of longtime vocalist Coolie Ranx, now vocalist for The Pilfers. Ranx's soulful Jamaican vocal style complemented lead vocalist Rob "Bucket" Hingley's to define the Toasters' sound. Their new vocalist, Jack Ruby, just isn't the master that Coolie was. However, this IS a great album, and much much better than anything labeled "ska" by the media.
