Product Description

About the Author

Jayne Taylor is a hairdresser by trade, owning salons and training others to craft their skill. However, Jayne s commercial success is predominantly borne from offering a sounding board and her own brand of support to the people receiving a haircut, with customers flocking to her for her listening ear just as much as her talent with the scissors. Jayne s gift is to cherish others, despite the treatment she may receive from them and a trait that saw her subjected to horrific abuse from her loved ones and those around her. Petite and softly spoken, it s perhaps easy to make judgement as to how Jayne found herself a victim of domestic abuse, but only her unwavering faith and courage of a lion has seen her break out from such a destructive cycle and still wish to help others less fortunate. Jayne is a tower of strength and an inspiration to all. Her debut novel is her autobiography a gritty account of her life which will also serve as the backdrop to her own brand of workshops and programmes. If you haven t walked the walk, you can t talk the talk, and Jayne has journeyed to Hell and back to find the answers she knows will help other victims of abuse.

Anyone like the reviewer, 'jackanory' who feels it necessary to call a book on one brave woman's experience of abuse 'fiction' surely has no experience of what domestic abuse is about. This type of response is quite typical of people who perhaps have been convicted on some level and fail to step out of denial about domestic abuse or who fail to show sensitivity to those who have been victims.

Jayne is someone who has taken a very difficult and courageous step in calling abuse, abuse and has found that not everyone appreciates her honest and brave testimony. It just goes to show that we still have a long way in educating people about abuse and how it works and calling people to account who abuse others.

Jayne may have once been a victim of abuse but she certainly is not a victim now, she is standing up and creating a new life and any woman who wants that kind of inspiration to live an abuse free life themselves, and anyone who wants to get educated and respond in a way that empowers others to live an abuse free life, should read this book.

May Jayne continue to stand up for those oppressed and not be put down by insensitive comments to her work.

What a compelling book of someone who has come through so much pain and suffering and has had the help and guidance of her church. This book keeps you glued right till the end and once you start reading it you cant put it down. It shows the strength of a very special lady who is now giving time to people who have been and are in the same situation as she has been in.
