Have to agree with the other reviewer. This film is unpretentious, easy going and not too complicated for the hard of head (a moi). Even though you get the feeling it's missing a bit of a middle, it doesn't really seem to matter (unlike something like MIB which was rendered terrible because of this). I can unashamedly say I love feelgood films that can produce a tear .. and this is one .. Well done .. mr Director.

I dislike most British films. They come across as what they are - low budget, unrealistic/ or brutally over the top and dark...usually involving drugs and maybe even an overdose or two. This film is a wonderful portrayal of an ideal middle england life. Great music, great acting AND great comedy. Working at a Video shop I see some duds, this is at least as good as Notting Hill except in a different way. With both romantic and comedy elements coming together. Very British yet very funny - a great blend of British and American humour taliored for the mainstream audience on both sides of the channel. Whether you are a comedy buff or a romantic, you will trully enjoy this film. It is one of those films that make you feel "satisfied" at the end. Move over Hanks and Ryan, make way for Edwards and Seagrove!

A Good Effort

I thought I'd give this a try since I like Anthony Edwards and thought it would be a fun film. I did enjoy revisiting England through the scenes provided, and also seeing Edwards again after ER. But the plot didn't interest me at all.

Its has been a while since I last watched this movie as I only have it on video, but it is well worth getting. Anthony Edwards is lovely, I would call it a fell good film. I am now waiting for it to be released in the uk. Can't wait.
