5.0 out of 5 stars A must for Oasis fans 20 Aug 2002
Format:Audio CD
A single only released in Japan, and it is well worth buying. Don't Go Away is a very personal song to Noel he wrote it when he thought his Mum had cancer and it sums up how he was feeling and it is class. The live version of Cigarettes And Alcahol is the best version i have heard, with a great little intro. Sad Song is a hard Oasis track to get hold of but it is on this release and it shows why Noel is the best song writer of his generation, this song is simply a master piece. The war Child version of Fade Away is the best of the two.Noel takes lead vocals while liam handles the backing vocals and it works brilliantly on this song. The sleeve notes give you the English lyrics and the Japanese lyrics. You also get a poster of the lads in action.Marks out of 5 well 5 you are not an Oasis fan without this CD BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't be without it! 9 Jan 2002
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
An absolute must for the serious Oasis fan - the Japanese fans were very lucky indeed and so now can you be as well - the excellent Don't Go Away you all know. Put it together with the explosive Cigarettes and Alcohol and contrast this with the melancholy (and my personal favourite) Sad Song and you're well on the way. Fade Away provides a fitting finale - the Warchild version with backing vocals is sweet as a nut. Any Oasis collection is incomplete without this gem of a single - An absolute must!

5.0 out of 5 stars quality 4 Nov 2001

Format:Audio CD
This japanese single release of Dont Go Away is superb. Dont Go Away is a great song, a classic by Oasis. The live version of Cigarettes and Alcohol is great. Sad Song is one of the best songs I have heard in years. Sad Song not on any Oasis single released in this country, and is neither on any album, so just buy the single for that song. Finally the Warchild version of Fade Away is completely different to the original, very laid back version with Johnny Depp playing guitar andLisa Moorish providing the backing vocals. What a great buy this is, so go and buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Japan? Why Oasis WHY? 17 April 2000
Format:Audio CD
Oasis - Don't Go Away
A Japanese import that makes me wonder if Oasis ever intended on releasing this as a single in the UK, or did the fact that Be Here Now came in for outstanding stick from highly expecting critics put them off? In my opinion, Be Here Now is a good album, the only thing that made it seem bad was over expectation.
But this review isn't about that. Don't Go Away is proof that Be Here Now does contain some gems. Arguably the best song on that album if it weren't for the fact I preferred the louder It's Gettin' Better (Man! ).
A live version of Cigarettes & Alcohol is included. I originally hated this song for some misguided teenage reason, and yet when I hear it now, I just can't help yelling! This live version conveys that exact emotive response. An old song from Noel, Sad Song, is included. I had always been looking for a copy of this song because I think it is one of Noel's best songs.
Perhaps the most eye opening aspect of the single is the Warchild version of Fade Away. This is the most Beatlefied track from Oasis I have heard and a total make over from the original shouty brash version. A sort of Yellow Submarine you could say.
Five stars!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent - but be forwarned! 27 July 2000
Format:Audio CD
This is one great single. It is the last four song Oasis single. Now they only give us three songs on a single. As others have mentioned, this one is great. Every track is a gem, especially the live version of "Cigarettes and Alcohol." And "Sad Song" is a masterpiece. But be forwarned, the boys have played a bit of a bad joke on you. The songs are all strung together like a medley. Before one song can completely finish, the next one starts. Which (in this case) leaves audience applause all over the opening of "Sad Song." I hate when they do that! A few of the "Be Here Now" singles were like that... very annoying.
Thankfully, their "Shoulder of Giants" single are back to normal.
Those looking for a perfect version of "Sad Song" can find it on the Japanese import version of "Definitely Maybe." The Japan version carries two non-album tracks (Sad Song and Cloudburst). But this single is worth the buy if you can handle the fading into one song from another.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great single, worth the money 29 April 2001

Format:Audio CD
This single really is a masterpeice. Dont go away is possibly one of the best tracks on Be here now, and should really have been released in England. The live version of Cigerettes and alcohol from Gmex 97 really is a great performance. Sad song really is one of the greatest un-known Oasis songs. The war child version of Fade away is reall differant from the orgional, and after a few listens you really begin to love it like a new track. Thsi should be included in any Oasis fans collection
