Product Description

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Beth Hart, known for her raw and powerful blues-rock sound, wraps her expressive vocals around classic soul covers on Don’t Explain, an album that grew out of her friendship with guitarist Joe Bonamassa. Produced by Kevin Shirley (Joe Bonamassa, Led Zeppelin, Black Crowes), the album features Hart’s scorching interpretations of ten songs, with Bonamassa on guitar and his ace band filling out the tracks. This Limited Edition includes four bonus live acoustic tracks of Beth Hart singing solo.

I must admit I am a Joe Bonamassa fan and I bought the album on that basis, never having heard of Beth Hart, but it is totally amazing. Beth Hart's vocals are powerful and enchanting particularly with covers of Etta James. Joe stepped back slightly from the limelight to give Beth the lead, but you know he's there with his powerful arrangements and brilliant guitar work. I can highly recommend this album.

Just brilliant. Tremendous collaboration between a great voice and arguably the best gutarist around today. A must for fans of either musician.

I took a risk in buying this CD as I'd only seen Beth Hart on the latest JB DVD and knew nothing of her. Then I saw it contained I'd Rather Go Blind, which is a fav of mine. It is absolutely brilliant; the finest female blues/gospel singing I have heard in years, if not decades. You can keep yer made for TV pretty girl stuff, this is the real deal. And this combined with JB's faultless playing... If you like this kind of stuff, just buy it; you will not be disappointed.

This kind of passed me by when it first came out. Heard the single, and enjoyed it, but didn't bother following up. I'm a huge Joe Bonamassa fan, and recently bought his Beacon Theatre DVD, where I was reintroduced to the fabulous Beth Hart who guests on a few songs. I was enthralled by her vocals, and decided to give this another try. Wow! Wish I'd done so before! Absolutely stunning album, and it completely hooks you in with spectacular vocals, and sublime arrangements. Joe takes a back seat in terms of prominence on most tracks, but when he lets rip with his signature tone, you just melt with pleasure. A marriage made in blues heaven, and a superb album I would recommend to fans of great music. I've also spent some time investigating Beth Hart's solo records, and would recommend them all whole-heartedly.

Didn't know about Beth Hart, and despite being a voracious Joe B fan, through that and apathy I just gave this a miss when it came out - but then was enthralled by her performance on Joe's Beacon Theatre DVD (excellent, buy it!), and immediately bought this CD on the strength of that. I'm very glad I did now, it is a fabulous CD, and great to see that Joe is not at all bothered to take the (slightly) back seat for once. I will be digging out her other work now.

Outstanding talents.
Both of these talented folk deserve greater recognition.
Hope they tour Britain soon. Would travel a distance to see them live.

Beth's voice and Joe's guitar are a marriage made in musical heaven. Blues in shades from cerulean to indigo - not to be missed.

Joe's guitar playing and Beth's stunning vocal range. One of my favourite albums.
See-Saw is also good, but not as good as this.
