Jimmey Hanley stars as a car salesman, whose Grandfather (Edward Rigby) is a life long crook. Having just got out of jail, Grandfather feels he has to prove he still has what it takes, & so kidnaps the daughter (Petula Clark) of a famous actor. Unfortunately for the two men, once Grandad has kidnapped the girl, they cannot get rid of her. The girl enjoys the chance to be more of an adult, as her father doesn't want his public to know about her. The father, whose carrer has been on the slide, finds his latest play benefits from all the publicity. And the girls friend, (Anthony Newley) also wants his share of the attention.
While not expecting much, I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this film. It is funny, & original, & had that feel good factor about it. I now look forward to watching this film again, & again.
