1 of 1 people found the following review helpful By Richard Loder on 8 Mar 2010
Format: Audio CD
There is some excellent material on this album that Buck released to follow the big title hit. I Don't Care was bouncy, twangy and enthusiastic. Record buyers loved it. Strangely, the album gains by not being a collection of greatest hits. The material is varied, with all the Buckeroos getting a chance to shine. Don Rich gets a number to vocalise on and Doyle Holly does the low notes on Understand Your Man. Tom Brumley has a steel guitar instrumental with Buds Bounce, whilst Buck himself shows what a lead guitarist he was with Bucks Polka. There is also a duet with Rose Maddox on Loose Talk.
So you can see that effort is going into making an album to entertain, not simply to churn out product. For the time in 1964, that was unusual, artists had contracts to produce and entertaining was often an after affect.
Not so with Buck; enjoy this wonderful Sundazed reissue with great sound. The booklet and artwork are top notch.
