Chris Ayer grew up in Virginia. After receiving his first guitar when he was a teenager he started writing songs. After moving to Northern California, he started sharing his songs locally, while studying philosophy and music at Stanford University.
He writes wonderfully poignant lyrics right from the heart, and the songs on this album do not disappoint. Great arrangements and beautiful melodies.
I have been a fan for a couple of years now. Check him out on Facebook and listen to some samples. His grassroots audience is growing all the time and he is definitely a talent to watch and hear.

I have to be honest, I found Chris the same way I do with most of the artist's I listen to through 6 degrees of separation over the last few years. Jason Mraz to Matt Nathanson to Josh Damigo (that guy is just as awesome as those other two) then on to Chris Ayer. This album can best be described as falling somewhere between Jason Mraz's depth, Matt Nathanson upbeat sound and Josh Damigo's intelligent, heartfelt writing. The album has a little bit of all of them from true pop tunes (like Opening) to more complex sounds (Pretty Poison Things) and flat out punch you in the gut love songs (like The Revealing). You will not be dissapointed if you like the sound of a guy with a guitar who can do just about everything else. Thanks Chris now let's have some more.
