Really like Tom Moriarty's distinctive voice. With its catchy guitar back-track it should be a winner. I feel I ought to like this more than I do, but something is missing. The track is vaguely reminiscent of Albert Hammond (whom I love) but somehow doesn't quite work. Haven't quite sussed out what it is yet, but suspect it may be either that the lyrics veer between deep and trite or that the upbeat arrangement fails to reflect or counterpoint the nihilism of the lyrics. Whatever, what could/should have been a knockout track ends up being just average. Pity.
