DK 2! 13 Jun 2004
By Martin
Well the first installment of DK was a real classic giving the sequel a hard act to follow, but follow it it does with improved graphics, more crazy fast paced banana collecting krok stomping action & all new playable characters including Dixie. She's Diddy kongs new side kick as poor old donkey kong has got himself in a spot of mischeif. So its up to you & dixie to save donkey kongs skin. A good follow up to very strong series of games.

the best game ever? 2 July 2004
donkey kong country 2 burst on the snes in 1996 following up from the awsome donkey kong country that showed every one what could be done with the superfx chip.luckly dkc2 somehow manages to build on what was achieved the the first game and also improve.so donkey kong has been kidnaped and its up to diddy and dixy kong to rescue him from the evil k.rool.To start off the level design of dkc2 is wicked there are loads of areas with different themes such as a fairground a ship wreck a honey area all implmenting new ideas and making each stage compleatly different. One of the best stages is a wind one where you have to waite for the wind to blow in the right difection before jumping otherwise you will not jump far enough and fall to your death also there are new animals to use in dkc2 such as the parrot a spider and a rhino ovisoly the parrot is used for stages where you need to fly the spider shoots out web and can use it as platforms to reach higher areas the area bosses are great also there massive and fill up the screen and require good tacktics to defeate.the only down side to this version is the graphics that look slightly dated compaired to the snes original but luckly the gameplay is top stuff so if you want to own about the best platformer of all time look no further this will take you ages to compleate and you will love every mineut of it so buy now.
i would have given this 5/5 but the graphics are not as good as the snes version however if going on gameplay i would give it 5/5

Donkey Kong Country 2 (Diddy's Quest) was an absolute hit on the SNES back in 1995. It was one of the bestsellers for the console, and in my opinion revolutionarised 2D platforming.
Carrying on from DK1, you either play Diddy or Dixie, each with their own indivual skills. The game is huge, spanning over 7 worlds, with absolutely loads of hidden extras to keep even the most seasoned professional occupied for months. This game is not only fun, but it is challenging, and will appeal to every age of gamer on the planet. If the Gameboy Advance does this game justice (which im sure it will) it will be an essential purchase for anyone who wants an absorbing, fun and challenging 2D platformer!
