Thanks for taking the time to glance at my Author's Page.
I'm a retired Canadian lawyer who operated a sole practitioner legal practice in the beautiful small city of Belleville, Ontario from 1973 until I retired in September of 2009.
To help fill my new-found leisure time, I began writing novels, mostly about older lawyers.
Please forgive my atrocious book covers. My lovely English wife, Jane, was worried that I might blow through our retirement savings while I was on a massive ego trip paying editors, designers and publishers scads of money to make my drivel available in all publishable forms to the world's readers.
To appease my darling, I have agreed not to spend a farthing to prepare my book covers or have my treasures edited or published. My book covers were designed by me using the primitive Microsoft Paint. Since I have zero artistic talent, I decided to make my covers extremely basic (unfortunately they are therefore unappealing). I'll bet you didn't choose any of my novels because of the cover. I also act as my own editor and hope that my skills have now improved such that readers won't find any irritating typos or obvious grammatical errors.
My "literary treasures" are only available on Amazon (because it's free to publish there).
In order to assist you in deciding which (if any) of my books to read, I hope that the following summary of what I consider to be my five best novels will be of some use.
I am proudest of my novel "RICH LAWYER, POOR PRIEST", which contains a lot of humor as well as an interesting story about a shady lawyer who seeks to redeem himself after being forced to share a hotel room in Las Vegas with a dedicated Catholic priest.
Another novel I really like is "TEMPTING THE GOOD LAWYER" which tells the story of Satan targeting an honest lawyer and tantalizing him with incredible temptations in order to corrupt the poor lawyer's soul.
I also like "NAIVE LAWYER" which tells the story of Adam Crook, a young lawyer who has just opened his own legal practice in Canada. Despite his name, Adam is scrupulously honest and believes that the hourly billing method is disastrous for the public and he tries to do something about it. It is also a love story.
Another good-quality story is "LOVE SEDUCES A FOOL" about a retired lawyer who gets taken to the cleaners by the women in his life.
None of my books sell well, but my best seller is "FAKE LAWYER" about an ordinary bloke with a bare high school education pretending to be a lawyer in the USA.
I would love for readers to take a stab at any of my other novels. So far the response to my earlier romance novels has been mostly negative, occasionally scathing. If you don't mind sampling an unknown author's "lesser treasures", then please read "A RETIRED LAWYER'S DOOMED ROMANCE", "THE LIPPY LAWYER'S ROMANCE", "BROKE, DISGRACED AND ALONE", or "THE WRONG LAWYER".
I've penned several action novels. There are five books in the "TY WARD ADVENTURE SERIES", as well as "ESCAPE FROM EVERYTHING" and "MARTY MARCOTTE'S REVOLVING LIFE".
I tried my hand at writing a murder mystery, "THE TWIN SHADOWS", and even a science fiction story "FLASHY LAWYER SLITHERS INTO THE OTHER REALM".
I've recently published a short novelette, "CELESTIAL COINCIDENCE", which is a happily-ending story about a young woman who decides to kill herself. I believe that readers will find it quite uplifting.
Thanks again for taking the time to read this summary of my novels. Readers can find more complete information by clicking on the individual titles and can even read the first couple of chapters by clicking on the "LOOK INSIDE" feature on Amazon.
