Hard-Edged Vocals Dominate,

For a fuller impression of what I think of 'Dominion', take a look at my review of 'Eternity', Kamelot's first CD.To summarise: I find Mark Vinderbilt's hard and raw style too much for my own taste, but appreciate the overall musical style of Kamelot that evolves into something greater over subsequent albums in which Roy Khan leads the vocals. Having listened to Roy Khan's take on songs from the two early albums, I feel I could easily have given them 4 or more stars if he had been there from the start. There seems no obvious difference in the CD details between the original issue and this 2007 re-issue/pressing. Correct me if I am wrong.

Good if you're a hardcore Kamelot Fan,

Dominion is an enjoyable Kamelot Album. However, it is not on the same level as their other work. The vocals especially are not nearly as solid, they are much more forced, and lack the freedom that is so present in later work like The Fourth Legacy, Epica, or The Black Halo. If you are new to Kamelot, I would definatly not start with this album. Start with one of the previously mentioned, also, The Expedition Live gives a great idea of what Kamelot is capable of and really captures their infectous stage energy. Overall Dominion is a good album, worthy of merit. It's just not on par with their other work.

This album is worth having for diehard Kamelot fans. Compared to their recent releases like Epica, The Black Halo, this album lacks the innovative sounds, but the music is yet melodic and great to hear. Even the lyrics are okay. I have Eternity to buy to complete my Kamelot collection.

THis album is a little better then their first album but its not so great. Its a little better than just ok . I hope they change for the better in the future
