Let me say that I'm partial to Bradt guides. If there is one, I won't go without it. They are about real travel, culture and nature, and not about shoestrings and fancy pictures. Paul Crask lives on the island and it shows. The guidebook is hike-oriented, which is as well. That's what most travelers will want to do if they choose to travel to Dominica. Hike descriptions are juicy and tempting, making You want to go. In the next edition I would like to read more about whale watching, a major attraction which is strangely almost overlooked. Creole Music Festival and the music scene receives the cursory treatment as well, oddly, since we are talking about a Caribbean island here. With these small reservations, the guide is about as good as guide books get.
