A photographic record of the architecture and engineering of the Millennium Dome. The book documents the building process of the dome at every stage, from its inspirational inception to its finished state. Specially-commissioned photographs, architectural drawings, maps, plans and computer models are included. Each image is captioned with a date and a brief explanation of the construction process featured. Focusing on the development of the entire Greenwich site, the book examines the ecological transformation of this brown field site and in particular its proximity to the Thames. Details as well as panoramic images convey the scale of the project and a short, incisive introduction traces the development of the building's design, construction and development.

This is a nicely designed book, which is in an unusual circular format - and comes in a robust plastic cover (I guess to stop it rolling off your bookshelf!) - and feels like it should cost about twice what it does. It features beautiful photography, interspersed with architectural drawings printed on thinner (tracing?) paper. There is very little text - mainly facts and figures. It doesn't cover any of the content of the dome, just the building itself (which is probably for the best!). Would get 5 stars if it was longer and more text, e.g. explainations from the architects.
