Simple but true... 24 Sep 2002
Format:Paperback
When you have bought the book, turn to page 189 and pay close attention to the section on setting targets for improvement. David Hall points out that it is all too easy to fall back on the obvious measures (usually a financial target) when the real measures of success might be completely different. He suggests repeat business and customer delight might be good measures.

Why not throw in the amount of fun you bring to work? Or how many great ideas you generate? We find that the money flows effortlessly when you concentrate on these kinds of measures.

A good book full of good ideas to dip into over time. Well worth the money.

'Doing the Business' is the business. The bullet point format and handy toolkits make it an easy read and a useful reference. I continue to dip into it, taking what I need, when I need it. The lack of intrusive waffle and the plethora of real examples make this an entrepreneur's dream, giving step by step instructions that not only help you to ask the right questions but also to formulate a plan to come to the right answers. Highly recommended.
