Product Description

Product Description

As unpleasant as the name suggests, players throw the dice to determine how often they squeeze a plastic dachshund's lead. Each squeeze pushes some plasticine poop nearer to fruition and when the deed is done the player holding the lead cleans up the poop with a little spade. First to 3 wins

Product Description

Been nagging mum for a puppy? You may change your mind after cleaning up Doggie Doo. It may seem childish but we've got to admit it - games about poop are just plain funny. So expect plenty of giggles as the greedy Doggie Doo pup gobbles up all the treats and poops on the lawn. If it happens on your turn then you better clear it up - the first player to scoop three poops wins! Doggie Doo is a roll the dice game. When it's your turn to feed the pup you get a chance to pump his lead and see if a 'little present' follows. The game will appeal to anyone with a cheeky sense of humour aged four and up.

2.0 out of 5 stars Keeps Breaking! 27 Oct 2011
By Elly85
Durability: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I have ordered 3 of these, the first one never worked, the second worked for about 5 minutues and the third for longer at 15 minutes ut we couldnt even finish the game. The kids think that it is hillarious as it involves toliet humour but its rubbish. The pump just stops working. It is expensive for what it is and it just breaks over and over again. I would recomend not to buy this the kids will only get sad when it breaks.

I bought this for my 4 yr old & 10 yr old boys. Anything to do with poo they love. We were very disappointed with how fiddly this game was and was difficult for my 4yr old to work the toy. The poo got stuck after a few goes even though we followed instructions. Very frustrating. Sent it back!!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Short-term fun 19 Nov 2011
By AndrewM
Durability: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Bought this game and had great fun playing it for a week. Everyone could not stop laughing at the sounds and the "poo" popping out.

Unfortunately after one week the consistency of the "dog food" has changed. It has become very sticky and will not pass through the dog/ gets stuck to your hands.

The game is now effectively useless as there are no details of how to obtain replacement "food".

A lot of money for a short time of fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Close Encounters of the Turd Kind 5 Jan 2012

Doggie Doo featured heavily in many Must Have Toy lists for 2011 and, despite the scatological nature of the game, you can see why. In an era of touch-screen technology and TV tie-ins, it's almost a breath of (not so) fresh air to see a toy that doesn't rely heavily on branding or peer pressure to be fun or popular.

The game itself is simple; a plastic daschund with a tube that runs from his mouth to his bottom. The lead is basically a hand-operated pump which, when squeezed, pushes air inside the dog. You feed the dog a brightly-coloured treat (similar in texture to Gak), put the bone-shaped stopper in his mouth and you're ready to go. Game-play is dictated by the roll of a dice (how retro is that?!) and, in a rare show of magnanimity, the youngest player goes first. The die is labelled 1, 2 and 3 to indicate the number of squeezes the player gives the lead, with each squeeze forcing the dog treat through the dog's inner workings and producing a rather charming squelching sound in the process (imagine a deflating balloon or a flatulent aunt). Play passes around in a similar manner until the treat finally reappears at the back end of the dog as a poop. The player holding the lead gets to claim this poop, using his or her coloured scoop and play continues until someone has collected three poops.

My main concern with this game was how difficult it would be for small hands to manipulate the lead/pump but it seems that the manufacturers also had this in mind and even a three year old can operate the game without frustration. Speaking of which, one minor niggle is doggie constipation. Every so often, the dog will get blocked and play will stop while this needs to be fixed.

2.0 out of 5 stars Breaks Easily 23 Nov 2011

Durability: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Children absolutely love this game BUT after having the game for a month I found that the dog had stopped working.I unscrewed the casing and found that two of the little plastic pieces, that connect the tubing, had snapped and were unrepairable. The game was not mis-used in any way so all I can think is that the connections are to flimsy.
On the plus side I contacted Amazon about it and within two hours they had sent me postage paid return forms for a full refund - well done Amazon.
Pity about the game though as it's a great fun idea.

2.0 out of 5 stars Doggie Don't......... 19 Oct 2011
By Oldboy
Durability: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Bought this for my nephews aged three and six. I had seen it on a BBC chat show and it seemed like fun and it was. It was for the six year olds birthday and we had hours of fun feeding the dog and scooping up the poop. It was a great present and pretty much made the day.

But.....

Visiting them two weeks later, they immediately wanted to play 'Doggie Doo' and it did not work anymore, due to a serious design fault.

The 'doo' is a jelly like compound similar to a product called 'Gak' and is indeed fun to touch. Very tactile, it has that revolting/fascinating combination. The only problem is, after only a little bit of handling, it loses elastcity, contaminated by moisture of the hands. The toy works by air pressure and if the doo allows air past it, it ceases to work. This led to the doo becoming jammed in the toy halfway and having to spend five minutes unjamming it....only to have the same thing happen on the next bout. It was frustrating for the boys and for me as we had had great fun with it.

There was no address to order more of the compound and effectively, they only played with the toy a handful of times. To keep the compound functioning, you effectively had to ask them not to play with it, keep it meticulously clean and touch it as little as possible! Yes.........!

Overall, Doggie Doo is a superb idea and fun game, but with young kids, only expect to play with it a few times.
