Product Description

Product Description

As Dogfish Project opens in the middle of the 21st century, the proliferation of nuclear weapons in third world countries with a grudge has resulted in near global nuclear war. In the aftermath, the world is divided into two opposing factions, the New World Order (NWO) and the Allied West Federation (AWF.) The conflict between these two super powers has evolved into a technologically advanced Cold War. The NWO plans to get the upper hand by launching into orbit an electronic threat that will take the AWF to its knees.

AWF Naval Commander Tom O’Donnell has led the development of a top secret submarine for the past eighteen months. Designated the Dogfish Project, the Nuclear Ultra-Morphic Submersible (NUMSUB) is the most advanced weapon system the world has ever known. It looks like a submarine and moves like a submarine, but that is where the resemblance ends. O’Donnell has barely three months to convert NUMSUB from experimental to operational. It’s the only hope the AWF has of taking out the NWO threat. Not only must they neutralize the threat, but he and his crew of highly trained specialists must do it in complete secrecy.

Take the journey with Commander O’Donnell as his crew faces nearly insurmountable obstacles. Unless they succeed, he and his team will perish and the world will come under the control of the NWO. Failure is not an option.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Dogfish Project 30 Sep 2012
By BONJELL
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a really good book to read. For a start it had an unusual plot which at first I was a bit sceptical about but as the story unfolded, it became quite possible. In all 'techno - thrillers' most of the plots are very similar so I always enjoy reading an author who has thought something out of the ordinary.

The storyline moves along at a brisk pace and as the climax mounts up the tension, there are quite a few twists and turns that have you impatient to find out what happens now!!

Once again a great read which I'm sure many readers will enjoy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, not bad 15 July 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The whole idea of the story behind the book isn't bad, and realistic to an extent. But you can tell the author is a bit new to writing as the book drifts and wanes in places, and the ending is fairly predictable. Not a bad book, I've read worse, but I'd struggle to recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very easy read 10 July 2013

Very enjoyable but just a little too predictable. The final chapters in particular lost some of the earlier tension and excitement

3.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre adventure at a very reasonable price 8 July 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Set well ahead of time. Not fast paced or risky enough to be gripping.
The baddies always look like losing and guess what? they did!

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting 29 May 2013
By J. N. Bullock VINE VOICE
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a reasonably good story spoiled by sloppy writing and poor proof reading. Poor sentence construction, the use of "made up" words and some suspect technical detail spoil what could have been a good book. Interestingly most of the bad stuff was in the last quarter of the book...was Mr Haynie getting tired?

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellrnt 24 May 2013
By Gobberz
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
With the title I wasn't expecting much but I stand corrected. It started off a little slow but then things got stuck in. If you are looking for a book with huge wars and naval battles then this is not it. It's set in the not to distant 2050's with a submarine that uses some almost farfetched by to some extent realistic futuristic tech. Lacking an apparent love story which I can be partial to though there is one that is possible between two members of the crew and, between a commander and a his former missus.

Great read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth a Read 13 April 2013
By DJ
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
An entertaining read as it kept up good pace even while interchanging with various plots. Technical data was interesting without being boring or overelaborate.

5.0 out of 5 stars An unusual yarn
I really enjoyed how this tale unfolded. Despite some of the technology being a bit far fetched I still enjoyed the action.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read
Surprisingly good. Fairly technical and detailed but a good insight into the future. Story line compelling although the outcome was rather predictable. Well worth the read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Readable
I found this one to be a little 'immature' in the writing with too many inconsequential items thrown in to 'pad' out the story, having said that, it is readable and acceptable if... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars A darn good read
I was riveted to this book from start to finish. A very futuristic setting and not your usual sub novel. Would recommend to anyone wanting a different take on submarine operations.
