This book covers everything from Basic clicker training all the way to very advanced tricks (carrying a basket, putting away toys). The book starts with the basics, items you need, and then has 1 or 2 page tricks, with a lot of pictures to make things clearer.

I have purchased several dog books, but this one was the most enjoyable. I highly recommend it.

Great 'how-to' guide! 26 Nov 2006
Format:Paperback
I bought this book as I was interested in the idea of clicker training, and thought I'd try it out on my old dog and teach her a few new tricks. And this book is just great for that! It covers a little background about the clicker (although doesn't give a huge amount on the 'whys' of the clicker philosophy), and then gives you a step-by-step guide to teaching lots of different 'moves' or tricks (and would be a useful starting point for anyone wanting to train healwork to music as it is these moves that seem to form the basis of Mary's routines).

The book is clear, the illustrations are helpful, and I'm well on the way to teaching my old collie a few new party tricks!

An excellent book by an inspirational woman!

A Mary Ray Dog trick book and a dancing one are great for all dog trainers but beware some of the books are reprints, I would recommend buying this one and Dancing with Dogs: Easy-to-Learn Techniques and Fun Routines For you and Your Dog.

I also bought Mary Ray's Superdog and Dog Tricks: Fun and Games for Your Clever Canine which basically contain most of the same pages as this book dog tricks, so best to choose one of those three and also get the dancing book.

Ok
Covers quite a lot of tricks and some are easy enough. However, it doesn't go into enough detail on some of them and the instructions can be rather vague.
