Product Description

When it comes to dog training, recent developments have improved the lot of our canine companions dramatically. Since the 1990s a kinder, more reward-based approach has replaced the more severe training methods, such as the choke chain, that were once acceptable punishments for doggy misdemeanors. One of the greatest exponents of this new approach to dog training was John Fisher, a pet behaviour counsellor, who really understood what made even the most uncontrollable dog tick. With such books as Why Does My Dog? and Think Dog!, he encouraged owners to see their training techniques from the dog's popint of view, and the results were phenomenally successful. This programme has been designed to bring you the very best of John Fisher's dog training methods, to help you establish a good relationship with your dog from day one. Beginning with puppies, selecting the right breed for your lifestyle and early socialisation, the programme will then take you through every aspect of pet dog care, helping you to avoid the most common problems that arise. Prevention really is better than cure and Dog Training The John Fisher Way provides everything that you need to know to enjoy life with your dog to the full. You will learn: What Makes Your Dog Tick? How To View Training From Your Dog's Point Of View How To Establish A Great Relationship With Your Pooch From Day One How To Select The Right Breed For You... And much more!

Poor 19 July 2007
Format:DVD
This DVD is an hour long with six chapters, one of those chapters is titled "controlling your dog". Within that short chapter there is hardly any tips on training your dog. If they spent as much time on the DVD talking about training your dog as they did talking about john fisher it might have been half decent.

I'm only glad I rented this DVD.

I am really disappointed over this DVD. I am sure that if was a friend of John Fisher, this DVD may have been a great memory of him. What I needed was help with my new dog. So if that is what you are looking for, this is not what you want.

yep 31 Jan 2011
Format:DVD
YEP, have to agree with these reviews, totally deceptive title, lots of film of people training their dogs, but cant you cant here it because of the voice-over, or dated lift music. don't waste your money.
