Dog Training Guide

Having a puppy is something that can be very exciting for your family. It can be a lot of fun having a new addition to your home. But then you bring that new puppy home and see all the damage that it can do. You see how it can eat everything in sight (including your favorite pair of shoes) and you see how it runs around without any notice of your property line or the safety of your home. That's when you start to realize that maybe your puppy needs some training.
Well that's exactly what you'll be able to learn here. You'll be able to figure out the best ways to keep your new puppy from doing all those bad things you don't like and how to ensure that they are turning into a well-behaved dog. It will take hard work and patience, but if you're willing to put in both, you'll have an excellent new addition before you know it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Useful but repetitive 7 Aug 2013
I don't know if the author has implemented a dog training trick into the style of his book, but it is repetitive, especially the disciplining part (elaborates twice at length).

Useful with the information but not really anything about walking with your dog. Especially annoying as they mention a horror scenario which you can't help visualise happening to your own pooch. I think a topic on teaching your dog to 'heel' or 'stay' would of benefitted (and reassured) any reader of this book. Instead of sharing a condescending attitude, maybe could of shared some useful tips on how to teach your dog to avoid distractions while walking (what I was actually looking for when buying).

Most of the topics I kind of knew already, not to slate on the information, but basic training wise, this book is a neat intro on how to understand a little bit about your dog.

This book is great if you've never been around dog's at all. Very basic how to potty train and sit. I've had dog's all my life so it was all repeat training basics for me.

3.0 out of 5 stars Basic 30 Oct 2013

it's basic information that's elementary to most people. there's some questionable info on how dogs react to punishment. the author says a dog won't love it's owner if the owner beats the dog. however, most other books say the reason why beating is wrong is because the dog does love the owner and being violent violates that love. aside from a few minor things, it's an okay book

This book was a let down. At 32 pages it seemed more like a term paper than a book. Very basic stuff. Scold your dog when he acts up, Be patient with your pet, Don't hit your dog, Make time to play with him and so on. And Do I really need to be told WHY I should train my dog. 80% fluff 20% basic info. Save your money

Too little and too general, not helpful at all. Not worth having and hasn't helped.
