I have just read this book as part of a university project. I would not hesitate to recommend this book. It is well structured and suited to children of ages 9-12.

It provides plenty of characters and scenes for a child to progress their learning. It also tackles many issues that are often portayed in the media today in a realistic terms.

For a few pounds this is a great gift for a child.

Fantastic story line, gripping, harsh but also heart-warming. A perfect book for kids or adults. It's a story of good vs evil, of love, of odd relationships and its a story of society's misunderstanding of the pit bull.

Mackenzie and Cash were the best of friends. Mackenzie's Dad had brought the little runt home for the boy. From that moment on the two were inseparable.

People in the neighborhood were afraid of Cash. Even though he was gentle and smart, everyone just saw that he was a pit bull. In fact, the city was in the process of banning pit bulls saying that they were unsuitable as pets and dangerous.

One day, Mackenzie's Dad did the unthinkable. He took Cash away and just dumped him. Mackenzie was devastated. How was the little dog with the big heart going to survive on the streets? What would Mackenzie do without his best friend? Most importantly, would these two friends ever find each other again.

"Dog Lost" is a childrens book - for approx ages 12+. It is a brilliant book and I would also recommend it to adults - anyone who loves dogs and likes a good read. It brings out the love and real connection that a child has with it's dog and the love that they have for each other. There is plenty of adventure, there is good and there is evil. there are highs and there are lows. It has you wanting to keep reading to find out what happens next. The book illustrates well the best of society and the worst. It also shows how dogs can be branded as bad just because of the actions of misguided owners. However where there is bad there is also good and this story is very heartwarming and does have a happy ending.
Lovely book - great gift.

So much better than a lot of the animal books for youngsters. Some harrowing parts but a book that you don't want to put down.
My 7 year old loved it as she did Dustbin Cat also by Ingrid Lee.
