This was a Christmas present and on first connection the keyboard with a new mouse too everything was fine , the Dell computer (Vista)was shut down and the following day when it was switched on the logo came up and the computer failed to boot up, the keyboard and mouse were unplugged and the old ones were put back and the computer came on no problems. The keyboard was the cause of the failure and there are no drivers to recify the problem as there is a new version of the sidewinder times 6.
Any help gratefully appreciated

This typically happens when you plug USB devices into different ports. It's not the fault of the USB device (USB keyboard, mouse, etc.). It's the fault of the motherboard's USB bus. Always be careful to plug your USB devices into the same port to avoid running into this problem.

The way to resolve it is (i) unplug the USB device that isn't working then (ii) open Device Manager, (ii) right click and remove the device which is no longer working. Plug the USB device back in and Windows should now detect it as a new device and it will start working again.
