5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant 29 Jun 2009
I was searching everywhere for a fun academic diary for my daughter who is in uni at the age of 26, but all the ones in the shops seemed to put all the funky element into their covers and were sooooo boring inside. When i saw this one on amazon it looked good from the outside, but would not allow me to look inside so if I had not been desperate by that time I would not have bought it. (Publisher take note!) However it is brilliant! my daughter was thrilled with it and now can't wait for the new year to start so she can use it. I work in education and am sorely tempted to get one for myself now even though I get a good quality functional diary given to me every year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Organisation for the chronically scatty. 3 Aug 2009
By Sophie
I'm possibly one of the most dis-organised people I know; seriously, I set off for appointments ten minutes after I'm supposed to have arrived, and still expect to get there on time, and I'm constantly forgetting things I'm supposed to have done.
These planners are awesome for people like me - they look interesting, making you want to actually look at them and write things in them, increasing the chances of me actually remembering to hand in work, or do it in the first place. There're quotes and random facts on every page, just for the fact fans, as well as large weekly tables with plenty of room for you to write down reminders for appointments, essay hand in dates, shifts at work, exam times, nights out.. anything.
Really good. Reccommended if you feel like you need a bit of a helping hand when it comes to remembering things and organising.

5.0 out of 5 stars I was dubious...but it's brilliant!! 2 Sep 2009
I really wasn't sure when I saw this diary.... I'd never heard of it but the reviews seemed really positive. I was dubious as it isn't the 'run of the mill' diary, and I quite like the more traditional ones so wasn't sure a change was a wise option. I got the diary and it hasn't left my side since, it has brought out the organised child in me; with colour co-ordinated information and timetabling. For some reason, because this diary is already sketchy and doodled it makes you want to join in the fun. It makes organising your life an enjoyable experience.
The layout of it is a lot different to normal diaries, which made me feel uneasy at first, but if you are open to new ideas then this one will definately work it's magic on you.

All in all, an unconventional diary for the creative, imaginative and unconventional person.

5.0 out of 5 stars dodopad academic diary 3 Aug 2009
I purchased the Dodopad academic diary for 08 -09 and really enjoyed using it. It brought a small shaft of sunshine, 'lightness' and fun into what otherwise were dry and extremely tedious meetings. I found it to have 'soul' and 'individuality' amongst the usual dour, 'straight' academic diaries. I was very pleased to be able to buy the diary again for 09 -10. It is 'functional' - having much space for notes in meetings/ reminders/lesson notes/addresses etc and the perforated corners make it easy to find the current date/week. I would recommend this diary for teachers/lecturers who 'dare to step out from between the regular, mass produced, drab, navy/black covers'. The design/humorous quotes are well considered and, as I discovered later, it is made locally by a small firm in Cornwall where I live...so I am also supporting local designers and manefacturers which is a bonus! I also have the Dodo recipe 'scrapbook' and have bought these as gifts for friends.

Fabulous fun but useful diary, a must for school, college, uni etc. Hours of doodling!
