Hi all,
I had been taking another brand of MSM for a while and I was deeply disappointed - I won't tell you the name of it because that just wouldn't be right *cough cough higher cough nature* ; )
MSM is meant to be the super mack-daddy of all supplements as it detoxifies the body and leaves your hair thick and your skin radiant. On the previous MSM brand i noticed no change whatsoever, it didnt even send me to the toilet, plus there was hardly anything in the tub and it finished so quick, it was hardly worth for money!
This brand however is awesome! My body has definitely seen some changes and my skin is already showing some improvements. i used to have two small patches on my face and now like magic theyve gone! woohoo i'm beautiful again... cough
so buy this brand it really is the best!
note:
I take 4 teaspoons throughout the day in a glass of pure orange juice preferably with a meal. the vitamin c in pure orange juice is meant to aid the effects of MSM somehow so it's recommended
You will be going to the toilet more often, i think it's due to the body getting rid of the pollutants.you wont be weeing yourself or anything, you'll just notice you'll be going more often
what else? oh yea drink alot of water, this will also help your skin. they say, that when you pass water you should then drink water (not the same water obviously! - very important). so when i go to the toilet i then go to the kitchen and have a small glass of water - this ensures i get my 8 glasses + a day.

This powder doesn't contain the anticaking agent. Hence it feels finer, and the powder tends to cake a little. This is easily relieved each morning by giving the tub a bang on the counter and then shaking it a little. The powder dissolves better than the holland and barret powder i had before, which contained anti caking agent.
overall ive been using the powder for about a month, and its been good. Ive definitely felt that my skin is softer and less dry, and hair is softer and growing a little faster.
I originally bought it for pain relief, having knotted muscles and shoulder problems (due to typing all day). these too have not troubled me in weeks. Acute pain still occurs, this is not paracetamol. However, continuous underlying inflammation definitely seems to have reduced quite a lot.

I bought this particular brand of msm on the back of the reviews I read here. Thats all you have to go on if you dont know somebody personally thats ever tried it. I've been taking it since the start January 2012 (its now the end February) & have gradually increased the dosage to about 3 to 4 grams. Its hard to tell exactly how much you are actually taking as the powder is so fine.
For the first two weeks on the recommended quarter teaspoon (1 gram) I was definately going to the loo more & my bowels were more open. Then I started to get only what I can describe as panic attacks. Then after that nothing. My bowels went back to their sluggish self & no more panic attacks. What replaced it is nothing short of saying that I've never felt so ill in my life. I am constantly dizzy & feeling sick with headaches. I am sweating profusely, so much so that my hair is wet. My joints are so painful & the areas where I do normally have pain have become much worse, so bad of recent that I have had to wear joint restraints to ease the pain. I am not on any other medication.
I have researched thoroughly on the internet (& even bought the book) to see what side effects there are and there is nothing on what I am experiencing. Not even symptoms about detoxing (which I thought it may have been). I really dont know whats happening to my body. I really want to believe that the msm is doing me good, but with all these symptoms I'm not so sure.
I've read so many good things about it, especially good for alleviating pain, but I'm sorry to say its had quite the opposite effect on me.
I'd be interested to hear from anybody else who has had problems from taking the msm.
I've almost finished the container & will persevere. Hopefully things will balance themselves out. I shall return soon to report my findings.

the taste
the taste of the formula when mixed with water is disgusting i am now opting to take the powder by quickly putting it on the back of my tongue and gulping down water. :(
