About the Author
Sheila May Bird is a talented newcomer to children's books. For many years she worked as a nanny and a nursery nurse, later setting up her own house cleaning business. Together with an illustrator friend, she began writing picture book stories - and one of these was selected for publication by HarperCollins. She lives in Warlingham, Surrey. Previous publications: Sam the Big, Bad Cat (Collins Educational) Emma Parrish obtained a First Class Honours Degree in Children's Illustration in 2005. Since then she has had two children's books published, illustrated a range of greetings cards for Hallmark and produced artwork for Marks & Spencer. Emma was born and still lives in Wales, in a beautiful old farmhouse with her sheepdog, Leah.
