5.0 out of 5 stars BRILLIANT!!!!! 1 Feb 2011
This is a brilliant box set and worth the money. The Key to Time is the 16th Season of Doctor Who and stars Tom Baker as The Doctor and Mary Tamm as Romana I. It consists of 6 Storys and they are: The Ribos Operation, The Pirate Planet, The Stones of Blood, The Androids of Tara, The Power of Kroll and the Armageddon Factor. It is a 7 disc set as the Armageddon Factor is 2 discs. My favorite in the seasonn is the Stones of Blood.
Rate:
The Ribos Operation (**)
The Pirate Planet (****)
The Stones of Blood (*****)
The Androids of Tara (****)
The Power of Kroll (***)
The Armageddon Factor (**)

The Season is 26 Parts all Together. The Ribos Operation through to the Power of Kroll are 4 Parts, and the Armageddon Factor is six Parts.
Again the box set is well worth the money and enjoyable to watch. I give the box set an overall score of 5 stars.

This box set has the whole season 16 as part of the key to time trilogy starring Tom Baker and Mary Tamm, I will shortly review each one.

THE RIBOS OPERATION-
Well sadly this did not kick the season off to a great start. Why people say it was the best when it's actually the second worst in my opinion is weird. It's really boring, has rubbish effects and just lacks action. 2/5

THE PIRATE PLANET-
My favorite.
Again I have to disagree with the majority, this one is brilliant, loads of k-9, and Romana looking great. Also an interesting plot line and a surprise at the end when you find out what the second segment is. The end of episode three has I think joint first with THE WAR GAMES episode 1 as the best ever cliff-hanger. And to top it off K-9 has a fight with a robotic parrot. Wish I good give it more than a, 5/5

THE STONES OF BLOOD-
Probably 3rd best.
This is a good story, no denying, again lots of k-9 and British weather and odd cults. And seeing the Doctor wearing his wig in the court seen, is just classic! Love this story and definitely worth watching again.5/5

THE ANDROIDS OF TARA-
Not my favorite, but probably the best.
This is my second favorite, but is the best written. Nice steady plot, lots of shooting and action and the surprise of finding the fourth segment very early on, which is a nice twist. Probably the highlight of the set for most people.5/5

THE POWER OF KROLL-
Ur, well, it's kind of, AWFULL.
This is one one of the worst rated episodes ever but I decided to give it a chance, and it didn't deliver. the costumes where terrible, the tentacles looked odd and stiff and the man with a giant clam on his head was embarrassing and when the doctor smashes the glass with his high pitch voice it's just creepy, really bad, though it did get a bit better towards the end.The worst one I'm afraid, but hey, there had to be one.2/5

THE ARMAGEDDON FACTOR-
Surprisingly good.
Oddly, I quite liked this story. A good six parter, with good charators, and a scary black quardian. K-9 turns bad and romana get tortured, this is really a dark and intriguing story, it really wasn't half bad. 3rd or 4th best. You could tell that they had started to run out of money, but with such a brilliant season it's expected. This story gets a very good, 4/5

Over-all this is a very good box set and in my opinion you're not a true Classic Doctor who fan without one, and certainly not a Tom Baker one. The box set gets %100, 5 stars , 10/10 you name it. What a brilliant set!

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential for any Tom Baker fan 8 Dec 2010
I've always been more of a McCoy fan myself, but this Boxset and Baker's performance in this series-long journey is fantastic and given my favourite Doc competition. The Stones of Blood being a personal favourite out of the whole boxset, mixing sci fi with pagan-like rituals and traditions. Mary Tamm as Romana is quite like a modern companion, not forever seeking the Doctor's opinion and sometimes surpassing it.

Another note would be the fantastic speical features, You need a whole day aside just to watch them properly. An impressive effort all round. Bravo.
