4.0 out of 5 stars Doctor Who: The Sea Devils review by Benjamin Wood, 26 Aug 2003
An almost excellent doctor who episode.
I have watched this episode from being a young lad and i still enjoy it to this day.

The music is particulary spooky and eiree probably because it's composed by the BBC radiophoinic workshop.

As is was saying a fantastic episode and one of the late Jon Pertwee's best adventures.

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth Seeing just for the lovely Katy Manning, 21 Jun 2002

Yes, the main reason why I like this story is because Katy Manning was lovely in this. Overall though, its not too bad and quite enjoyable at times with some good cliffhangers at end of episodes. Obviously dated, but I am sure die hard Dr Who fans will enjoy this. The Sea Devils in rubber suits and string vests look a little amateurish at times, but the voices are quite good. The only problem though was the music supplied by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop grates. Its awful at times which is a shame. Nevertheless, dont let that put you off, for there is much to enjoy here.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quite good, 18 April 2002
By A Customer
Generally, i thought this story was very good. It started very promisingly indeed, and the cliffhanger to episode one is possibly the best i have ever seen on dr who. the sea devils look a bit of a state, but generally this doesnt ruin the story too much. the acting is very good with roger delgado offering another stunning performance and pertwee on par as usual. the prison guards were the only dissapointment, whose reaction to a corridor full of sea devils looked more like one of them had just heard his grandmother utter a sexual obscenity. the quality of the recording is ok but it, really, should have been restored - but alas it is still very watchable and to be honest the interference wasnt as bad as i expected.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, except for the monsters.
Yes, this story does recycle 'The Silurians', but it is actually a major improvement. Whereas 'The Silurians' moved at a snail's pace, had an irascible Jon Pertwee as the fairly... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars One for the die hards I'm afraid.
'The Sea Devils' hasn't stood the test of time as well as many of the other Pertwee videos. I love Doctor Who, but I'm afraid this one has dated more than most, even the black... Read more
