I got an iPod 2 just after Christmas and went looking for a docking station to use. As we already have a Xoom with a similar looking dock I thought this one would do the trick. I was wrong.
First of all it is too small to keep the iPad2 stable while in it's upright/vertical charging position.
It will not charge in that vertical position, even though that is the way it is meant to as per where the iPad2 will fit onto the charger.
The only way for the charger to kick in is if you hold the iPad2 in a perfectly vertical position, or by placing a packet of matches behind the unit between it and the back of the dock.
We did, however, try my partners iPod on the charger/sock and that worked.
So if you want a docking station/charger for your iPod then no problem. If you want one for your iPad2 keep looking elsewhere.

Bought this as an alternative to the Apple offical product and this works a treat and looks just like the real thing.
This charges fine, however the iPad2 is not stable as the base is far too small and the iPad2 is leant too far back, meaning the best way to use is by folding some card behind it. Also on the apple dock, which my partner has, I can charge the iPad2 and listen to music. On this dock once the iPad2 is charging the sound does not work!? Stear clear, I'd rather pay £20 for the apple item!! This does safely charge my iPhone, however the sound again is lost.
