4.0 out of 5 stars Cute Christmas romance 3 Dec 2012
By Stormi Johnson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I was in the mood for a nice Christmas romance when I came across Debra Dixon's book on netgalley. I haven't read anything from this author but the story sounded cute and I was in desperate need for a book I could enjoy. (been in a reading slump) I am really glad I decided to give this book a try.

It wasn't that it was original or not like any Christmas book I have ever read but I don't know there is just something about a fun Christmas story that involves a little kid that just melts your heart. Taylor's mother died when she was sixteen and with six brothers she helped her father raise them. Now they are all grown up and she has decided that she has already taken care of a family and she doesn't plan on taking care of another. She wants her freedom, but there has been one man in her life that she just can't say no too. She has had a crush on him since she was a kid and he would come over with her brother, Clay. I could sort of see Taylor's way of thinking but I also thought she was a bit stupid at times.

Drew's parents were not very loving so he grew up feeling undeserving and not loved. The best times he ever had he remembered it being at the Bishops house. He knew that Taylor always made it the best Christmas and now the he has his son he wants a Taylor Bishop Christmas. He also realise that also wanted Taylor. When they were younger Taylor had been to young, but he always knew there was feelings there, now seeing her all grown up she stirred all those feelings back the surface. Now he just had to convincer her that he wants her and not just a mother for Noah.

Noah is the cutest little five year old I have seen in a book in a while and he just absolutely stole my heart from the very beginning. He was so timid and sad, but a Taylor Bishop Christmas really brightened him up.

Overall it was a very heart felt romance with a lot of tension between the main characters, though at sometimes I wanted to smack Taylor. It was a little steamy like any good romance and I liked it enough to try something from this author again. So if you really enjoy romance novels then I think you should give it a try.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Read Not Only At Christmas Time!!! 2 Feb 2013
By Mariann at Belle's Book Bag - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Doc Holiday was the perfect Christmas read, in fact it was a perfect after Christmas read as well! Just a heart~warming, fun, well written, emotional story that I enjoyed so much! I loved the concept of the story in that Drew asked Taylor for help in creating a Christmas for his son that he always wished he had and never did.

I was totally drawn into the story from the beginning. I loved Taylor and Drew but the character that I most enjoyed was definitely Noah. Oh..I just loved him!! I wanted to reach through the book and wrap him up in my arms so many times!! The scenes that stuck in my mind the most after I finished reading were the gingerbread decorating (my heart hurt during this scene for both Noah and Drew!!), the parade float where Noah donated his bear (I had tears in my eyes reading this part!!), picking out the Christmas tree, Noah's red boots and the scene where Noah told Drew that he asked Santa for Taylor to be his mommy for Christmas...so good!! Oh..and I especially LOVED LOVED LOVED the ending...I just wished that there was more to the story after Drew and Taylor got together as a couple because they were so cute together and I would have loved to have seen them all further into their relationship as a family.

I loved Drew's character and how he never gave up on Taylor even though she kept pushing him away. I love that he saw in her the need to be taken care of because she took care of everyone else but no one took care of her. Oh...and I loved that he fell in love with her when she was only 16 but he couldn't show it because he was way to old for her at the time and she had no idea of his feelings for her. I also loved how he teased her and called her Mouse~so cute!! I love how he was able to catch Taylor so off guard all the time because he knew what she was thinking and how she would react to certain things that he did. He was so sneaky but in a totally fun and loving way!! I also loved that it was so important for Drew to be a good dad and give Noah all the things that he never had as a kid, especially emotionally. Taylor was another great character. She was so afraid to love them but she just couldn't help herself. She was so calm and reassuring to both Noah and Drew. She was so sweet and funny and I loved that she knew exactly the right things to say and do for Noah and Drew.

A great entertaining read full of love and tears that left me smiling at the end. Oh..and the sex was pretty HOT also!! ;) Definitely a keeper to be reread and not just at Christmas!! This was my first read from Debra Dixon and I look forward to more from her.

5 out of 5 rating!!

4.0 out of 5 stars How to have yourself a Taylor Bishop Christmas.... 11 Jan 2013
By Kat~ Forever Book Lover - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Random House has a new romance line of books, Loveswept. I am loving each book I have read and this new line gives me an opportunity to read new authors!! When I saw this book in netGalley and read the blurb, I knew Ithis book was just perfect for a Christmas holiday romance.

This book had me weeping and laughing- it was like watching a Hallmark commercial.. You know the ones- this heartwarming book is sure to bring a tear and warm your heart.

Taylor lost her mother when she was 14, and has been the family's matriarch ever since. Each year, she is in charge of decorating the family's house for Christmas, but this year she is needed elsewhere.

Her childhood crush- Drew is back in town and he is in desperate need of a "Taylor Bishop Christmas", for his young son, Noah. But, can he mix Noah's Christmas with his feelings for Taylor without sacrificing for the other?

I loved reading their family traditions- the ornaments for each of the Taylor kids were kept in a box to be given to them when marry and have their own family. The gingerbread men baked fresh each year and added to the tree.

My heart ached for Noah, this little precious boy who was worried that if he was bad his father would give him away. Just like his mommy did. See what I mean... heart wrenching...

Now don't think everything is picture perfect between Taylor and Drew- they go through their own adjustments, but there is a HEA waiting at the end of this book. I think this has been added to my annual Christmas romance reads...
