Amazon.co.uk Review

Could you be getting in your way of producing great work? Have you started a project but never finished? Would you like to do work that matters, but don't know where to start?

The answer is Do the Work, a manifesto by bestselling author Steven Pressfield, that will show you that it’s not about better ideas, it’s about actually doing the work.

Do the Work is a weapon against Resistance – a tool that will help you take action and successfully ship projects out the door.

“There is an enemy. There is an intelligent, active, malign force working against us. Step one is to recognize this. This recognition alone is enormously powerful. It saved my life, and it will save yours.”

Available in both a 5-pack and 48-pack for you to share, as well as a special collectible edition, Do the Work may be just what you need to get out of your own way.

I devoured the book! 28 April 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Must confess to being a little surprised at the other reviews.

I downloaded the free version following a mention of Seth Godins blog - and to be honest his recommendation is more than enough for me - plus it was free!

Anyway, I ploughed through it that day and enjoyed the read and found it motivating and not at all irritating - don't be put off - give it a go!

I think this book is really super. I've read it once to familiarise myself and am now reading it again with a mind to following the advice. It's well written, easy to read, inspirational and supportive. Highly recommended for anyone trying to get off their backsides and do their 'thing'. No excuses allowed!

Loved it. 19 May 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed this book. The pace and tempo were just right for me and I really felt like it dealt with the issue of "resistance" and what stops us from doing the work we need to do. It walks you through the process and reminded me that I'm not alone with the feelings of resistance I have when creating something new or starting a new project. Like anything, these are not new ideas but they are put together in such a way that helps the reader to get moving and start taking action.

A great book which I have to admit I haven't finished yet as it would seem to only really be of use when you have a serious new venture under-way or in the offing (which I don't). Read more

Endless collection of truisms
This is one of the worst books I have ever read. Simply a collection of truisms, flat words and ideas thrown at the reader. A serious lack of helpful ideas. Read more

Manifesto
It's a short and inspirational read. But be warned it is a manifesto not a book. The author has a point to make and he goes to the length of using cuss words to do that. Read more
