most chick-lit is aimed at what age group? women over 20 years? well the author of this book is obviously trying to target 15 year old girls, with her constant use of teenage-slange and what she probably thinks are 'hip' words and phrases. i read about a dozen pages, forceing myself to continue reading because the storyline seemed promising - until i came accross the word 'jammers' not as in pyjamas, but as in 'the exhibition hall is jammers' (still first chapeter) who uses the word jammers??? no-one over the age of 15years. needless to say, after i re-read that paragraph, checking that i didn't imagine the use of such a stupid word, i sanpped the book shut and flung it in the bin! note to claudia carrol: stop trying to be cool and hip with your writing - it doesnt come across as cool and hip - it comes across and embarrasing for you and makes the reader cringe. i definately wont attempt to read any of your books again.
