Synopsis
Life is good for Luis (Alain Chabat). He's happily single, enjoys his job and is loved, cherished and pampered by his mother and five sisters. But, one day, they decide it's time for him to marry.
Luis hurriedly hatches a plan to fend off their unwelcome intrusion into his love life. He will find the perfect woman, who will charm his family, exchange engagement rings... and disappear on the day of the wedding. After that, nobody will dare mention the word marriage to him again. By happy coincidence, Luis meets Emmanuelle (Charlotte Gainsbourg), his best friend`s sister, who's just arrived in Paris and is looking for a job. It seems like a win-win situation for both of them, but the best-laid plans of single men can go horribly wrong!

Prete-Moie Ta Main is an hilarious French romantic comedy. Alain Chabat plays Luis, a a very happy and content single man who is pampered by his mother and sisters until one day they decide it is time for him to get married and start lining up women for him.
To counter this he employs Emma (Charlotte Gainsbourg), his best friends sister to pretend that they are dating. The comedy all comes from the situations they find themselves in as they meet for various functions and get deeper into trouble with the pretence.

I've seen the film five times in French and can't wait for the English DVD. The acting is brilliant, the humour is delightful, and Charlotte Gainsbourg is irresistible (as always).
This is Gainsbourg's funniest and most endearing film (second to "My Wife is an Actress").

It is a simple premise, a man who apparently cannot accept personal responsibility for his life and for what he has achieved ducking and diving in order to stay out of the clutches of responsibility as the pressure on him intensifies under the gaze of his watchful family.
Both lead characters have their own agenda and the two stars, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Alain Chabat play off of each other beautifully.
This is one to watch again and again.

A GREAT LITTLE FRENCH FILM - WOULD WORK WELL IN ANY LANGUAGE. GREAT ACTING, LOVELY STORY AND A NICE INSIGHT INTO THE WORLD OF PERFUME.

Relaxing and entertaining
Good movie to watch, Charlotte Gainsborough has shown a great deal of maturity and she's the one that makes the movie groove.

A very enjoyable, if somewhat predictable, film but worth an evening in. Nicely written throughout and very amusing at times.
