Product Description

Marlene McKean loves all the colours of the rainbow except for one - she absolutely hates the colour green!

About the Author

Lynne Rickards was born in Canada but returned to her roots in Scotland in 1992. She has been a writer of sorts all her life, working as a translator in Toronto, a proofreader in Montreal and an editor in Glasgow. Her early career included a brief stint as a children's illustrator for Crabtree Publishing Company, and this has proved invaluable in her picture book writing.

Margaret Chamberlain is the author-illustrator of Please Don`t Torment Tootsie and Mimi and Moochie. She has illustrated many children`s books over the last twenty years and has worked with Walker and Bloomsbury, amongst others. She divides her time between Lyme Regis and London.

I love Pink!, the previous collaboration between this author and illustrator. This is quite different in style, but has the same breezy humour and warm appeal. It's ideal for fussy eaters, of course, but it's also about being stubborn. The rhyming text is perfect - lots of chances to join in, and the illustrations are full of life - and, although green predominates, very colourful.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Our daughter, who is 2 yrs 3 mnths, loves it - so much so that she nearly knows it off by heart already, as she wants it read to her every night. Makes a refreshing change from Julia Donaldson at nighttime (parents of toddlers will know what I mean!) I'm going to purchase a few more copies as presents this Christmas.
