Les has done it again -- an excellent read on leadership! 29 May 2014
By Denise Lee Yohn - Published on
Format: Paperback
Les McKeown challenges the most commonly held myths about leadership, deconstructs what leadership really is, and sheds important light on how to lead. Do Lead which is a deceptively short book, only 62 pages, and is written in such straightforward simple language that the keen insights in it might take you by surprise. In Do: Lead, Les distills down the essential principles from his previous books, Predictable Success and The Synergist, and advances them to a level of practicality and instruction that will help anyone who aspires to be a leader.

Just Buy It 23 May 2014
By Steve McKee - Published on
Format: Paperback
As a faithful reader of Les' books, I couldn't wait to get my hand on this one. Les has a way of thinking that is straightforward, practical, and absent all of the corporate-speak or gobbledegook of other authors, which is especially helpful with a topic like this. The world--including the world of business--needs more (and better) leadership, and this book is a primer on how to be truly effective as one. It's brief. It's to the point. It's solid. Buy it.

Inspire Yourself and Others with Another Les McKeown Classic 26 May 2014
By Carol Roth - Published on
Format: Paperback
I was fortunate enough to get an early read on this book (I actually agreed to "blurb" it, which I rarely do), which is a perfect addition to your business or personal development library. If you are not familiar with Les and his other books, you should know that he is one of the most brilliant business minds around and he does an outstanding job of conveying knowledge, concepts and inspiration in easy-to-read formats. His latest book, Do Lead, is no different.

What I like about this book is that it really allows everyone, regardless of background, industry or title, to be able to embrace leadership and effect change, whether it be in a business, personal or other situation. It gives a comprehensive background and specific, easy-to-follow advice that you can apply literally every day of your life.

Do get this book and do lead!

Leadership for All of Us 24 May 2014
By James Notter - Published on
Format: Paperback
The book is clear, to the point, and sharply focused on helping you (wherever you are in the hierarchy) actually do the work of leadership more effectively. This includes getting clear on your own approach to leading. His breakdown of the four styles—visionary, operator, processor, and synergist—is helpful for figuring out how you best can build your system’s capacity. We need to take the idea of leadership down off it’s pedestal a bit and make it more accessible to all of us, and this book does a great job doing that.

Lead well no matter where you are in the organization - for at least a little while 23 May 2014
By Philip R. Gerbyshak - Published on
Format: Paperback
Do Lead is a super easy read, with practical tips for titled leaders and untitled leaders. Really simple stuff you can do right away to lead effectively and easily. My favorite part is it doesn't matter where you are in the organization - you can still lead. Not big L leadership, which is where you are a titled Leader, but rather little l leadership, where no matter where you are in your organization. Step up and lead - then step back and do your job. This book teaches you how to do just that - and so much more.
