5.0 out of 5 stars Hard to find - but worth it 24 Nov 2005
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I can't really understand where one of the other reviewers is coming from in assigning 1 star. That's very unfair. Sure, Lavelle's GU mix (and the Original Movie Soundtrack release) both have very recognisable echoes of what's here. But the point is that they aren't identical...and both releases (in my opinion at least) are mixed with a huge amount of forethought and skill.
The results here for 'Do androids...?' are three quirky, murky, smart mixes with all the unique weirdness that continues to set unkle apart.
Listenable. Danceable. Engrossing.
If you're an Unkle fan, and you can find this - really do pick it up. A real gem.

An amazing collection of all kinds of music rangeing from 80's + 90's disco tunes to funky hip hop with a little star wars thrown in for good measure! one of the best mix cd's you are likely to hear since 2manyDJ's! buy it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Where's our man Shadow when you need him? 17 Mar 2004
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
If you're an avid clubber then put on your stompin' boots and get ready to flail your arms until your ear drums explode, however hip hop / Shadow fans beware. The entire "mix" is dominated by filtersweeps and club/house tub thumping beats ruin some pretty good tunes.
If you already have James Lavelle's Fabric O1 disc (which is half the price of this monstrostity) then you'll have the better mixture without all the unecessary garbage in this mix. Again, Fabric I found enough stompin' to keep me happy...
Some aspects are quite amusing such as the star wars midi mix and the scratched CD version of the Chilli Peppers but the rest is not worth a sneeze. I was shocked and took this one straight back. Without Shadow it seems Unkle and its attention to detail has fallen apart dramatically...
That said I would definitely recommend Never Never Land... That really is good, but this intermediate stuff is drivel... Be warned!
