About the Author
Bateman was a journalist in Northern Ireland before becoming a full-time writer. All of his novels have been critically acclaimed, and he has written the screenplays for the feature films DIVORCING JACK, CROSSMAHEART and WILD ABOUT HARRY. He lives in Ireland with his family.

The author that cracks me up till this day without a problem.
Divorcing Jack follows the hectic ups and downs of a Belfast man by the name of Dan Starkey...
Trying to put this into words for american friends and anyone NON Belfast.. to understand is complex.. I end up just attempting to convince them just to get it based on sarcasm.
It is without a doubt the best book by bateman and will remain a fave of mine.

I liked this 'light' and funny' approwh to crime writing, and for the most part Bateman is an entertaining read. But little things niggle. It gets a bit repetitive and a bit samey, like a tune played all on one note. Plus the odd off colour line '...I looked like a spastic', spoilt the reading experience for me.
